Perhaps. But yesterday I filed my paperwork with the Secretary of State for my non-profit status and am waiting to hear back. I filed it with a request for expedited service. As soon as I hear back, we will start working on the IRS portion of the show. In the meantime, the "webmaster" is working on a website. I have instructed him to put the Christian fish symbol and my favorite Biblical quote on it somewhere to keep B.M. away, knowing how averse she is to the whole concept of God. ;D (The proverbial garlic.) I know. I'm bad.

LDH- I love it! As secondary insurance, you might want to have tiny pics of garlic on each page. Never know the persuasion of the riff raff these days.... -A

Congrats, Crazy! Do you have the Nolo Press book for forming a non-profit? It's great on hand-holding thru the IRS process. There are two versions of the book - one for California nonprofits and one for other states. www.nolopress.comand for after you get your 501(c)(3) - Federal publication 4221, non-profit compliance guide - do a search on nonprofit accounting on Amazon.com ... the top three books in the results all look like good ones. I suggest getting one of them and locating an accountant who has had experience with non-profit.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be a smarty pants. That's what happens when I get excited. I looked at the Nolo Press site. It's got a lot of stuff! I'll go back and look at it again when my migraine is gone. Lots of bright colors on that site. I'm lucky because I work for Attorneys. One of them does Non-Profit in his private practice and he's been an enormous help. My former boss is now a consultant for Non-Profits and teaches a short course in setting up Non-Profits at the local Community College. Thanks for the info!!

My mission is to provide comfort, support and assistance to at -risk equine and their owners through fund raising activities and networking. That's off the top of my head. I'm hoping the written version is a little more eloquent. p.s. I have a list of Trolls who will NOT be included in that network thank you very much.

So exciting Lildun! Now it's the dreaded IRS time. I work right next to the federal building in Seattle and there is a regular anti-IRS protestor. If they give you any flack, I'll walk the lines with him - SUPPORT LILDUN!
