Thank you for saying she is pretty. She is to us, but we are bias. Her mom is appendix and her dad was NSH. She was named Memory since we lost him to a broken leg 1 month before she was born. Poor guy came down wrong and snapped the bone, puncturing the skin. The vet advised me that surgery was not an option since the skin had been broken. A horrible day, so when she was born, we knew exactly what her name would be.

Hi , Just wanted you to know of our experience with a youngster and a fractured Sesimoid. When our Shagya gelding was a little tike ,2 yrs. or less . Went to the pasture to find him lying and unable to stand. After u.s.ound, he had a fractured sesimoid. Stall rest and bute as needed. Several months llater he was good to go back to pasture to run and play like a horse again. He jumped off something to do this.He is now 6 and my Husbands riding horse. No limits . He was started as a3yr. and has been going evern since. These youngesters Grow and heal fast .Keep the faith and expect a miracle. Use this time to interact and get to know your horse up close and personal! You shall benifit !

Thank you for the continued encouragement, it is truly appreciated. We have found that Mem can be a bit of a 'Miss Thang' if the treats are not as quick as she would like. She is definitely enjoying watching all that goes on at a vet's office and especially loves out visits. Today when leaving she saw us getting into our truck and had the look on her face as if to say, "where are you going" and called out to us. She is spunky! I better get some toys for her this weekend.

Yes, it is time for an update, isn't it. ;D
Today when we took her out of the stall, she walked like a perfectly healthy spoiled 1 1/2 year old. She pranced around for a bit. We were informed Mem has not had any bute in 3 days. We removed her pressure wraps to be shown how to reapply for the periodic changes that will need to be done. While waiting for the vet to come put the wraps back on Mem continued to prance and put complete weight onto the leg. If I didn't know better, I would doubt she was ever hurt.
We are still planning to do stall rest, but will take new x-rays and re-eval at 4 weeks rather than 6. While we were visiting her on Wednesday, the wife of the doctor in town that we've become friends with, came by and saw us. She insisted that Mem go and stay with them in one of their stalls and refused to talk money. So, we plan to move Memory there either tomorrow or the next day, depending on schedules.
There are some benefits to small towns, everyone has really rallied to try and help Mem. It is really awesome to be a part of.

And boy was she full of herself. She is definitely feeling MUCH better. She has become quite spunky and acts as though nothing has happened to her leg.

So I received a call this morning from the owner of the place where Memory is staying until we move to our new home. Apparently, Memory was not fond of being alone in a pen while other horses were having fun in the pasture next to her. Silly girl JUMPED the fence. It is hard to believe she has a break. Anyway, we moved her, again. Now she is in a new pen with 6 foot fences and only cows in the nearby pasture. I feel bad she no longer has buddies, but good grief, she just cannot contain herself. Silly.
