If anyone can get her as far as yakima I could meet them and get her the rest of the way to Renton if that helps.

What was the diagnosis on her injuries? Is she in OK shape to travel that far on her leg?

Not sure if the vet made it out yet - I think it was or is supposed to happen by Tuesday. I'm anxious to hear, too.

Just hoping to hear that this mare has been seen by the vet and is somewhere safe today!

This was the update I received: Grey mare will not be in for at least 7-10 days, which I an o.k with, because I was able to find a good vet to look her over for me and report back, her situation is adequate...she is fed, sheltered, and injury is messy proud flesh, but not infected.

I had this email at work this morning, so am posting in case there is any interest. Thanks. Good Morning Mary Susan Pohlman (whisperingwindsequinerescue@msn.com) sent me an email Re Oregon mare's leg injuries. Orphan Acres is up by Moscow Idaho and email states that the horse will be going to Renton, is that Washington or Oregon. If that is Washington we could be a lay over and as that is out of Oregon the mare would already have a Coggins and Health to come into Idaho. Just let us know if that would help and for how long of a lay over is needed. Brent Glover Orphan Acres Inc. 1183 Rothfork Road Viola Idaho 83872 208-882-9293 (community.palouse.net/orphanacres) I had an email from Darla at Strawberry Mountain Mustangs. This was the place she was trying to think of. She hasn't visited the rescue but has heard two good reports. Again, just in case there is any interest in this as a temporary layover or foster or whatever.

For Ginger if you're reading...will you kindly let me know who her breeder was via PM, if he sends along the Jockey Club papers? My last contact with him he didn't have them at hand.

Not sure why the ad's still up, but I assume he hasn't gotten around to taking it down yet. And yes, her name is Lady, not sure if it has been officially renamed to Ontario or if people just started calling her that because of her location. Anyway, not to worry, she'll be here soon!

I started callin her Ontario cuz of her location and I think renaming her will be a good idea. Kinda "washes" away the old life. New name, new beginnig so to speak. Anyone have any objections to re-naming her?

update from Ginger:
Update on the little Grey Lady in Onterio, oregon. If the plan all falls together the way it is supposed to, Grey Lady will arrive at the “Spa” much sooner than we expected...this Sunday, to be precise. I will be overjoyed if it works out that way! Grey Lady will need a lot of time & work to repair the damage from her leg wounds....we don’t know yet if the injuries are more superficial, or more challenging. We will hope for the best.

Hi all...I think everyone is getting a confused idea about this Grey Lady mare. She has been outright purchased by a private party, and will be in excellent vet care within the next few hours. This was not a true "rescue" situation like Pie and some of the others....her situation was unfortunate, but not life threatening. A local vet was able to visit the site some days ago, and determined that the (then) owner had made acceptable changes to accommodate the mares situation and keep her relatively comfortable while waiting. The man in Ontario, who sold the horse instead of surrendering her to rescue, ended up being a nice enough person, and was fair enough to realize he was in over his head with this horses' injury issues, and anxious to co-operate to find a new situation for her. He was more than fair and helpful in expediting a solution. Mare has already found loving, caring new people, and is on the path to recovery and her new, improved life. The money which has been collected toward her foster care & transport can hopefully be freed up to offer hope to other horses, like Pie and Isabella, in truly dire need...bless them all.

Huh, so she is not going to be a SAFE horse? I am happy she is going to be fine, but this is very confusing????

Well, if she's with nice caring people, all the better. Good for "Ontario". Maybe this means Pie and Isabelle can stay at the spa a while longer?
