Hello --I send a lot of pictures and videos out, because I take a lot of pictures and videos. Well this one is a little different.
For those of you who might remember, about two years ago, we went to the CBER lot and adopted three horses. Jessie, who died of old age about a year ago, Dallas, a QH mare we still have, and Dreamer who could barely walk at the time. She was scheduled for slaughter only. She was Dallas's buddy, and was extremly lame. Could barely walk. Didn't even have a name. When we loaded Dallas in our trailer, Dreamer limped from the far end of the feed lot through all the mud, and the manure right to the fence in front of us. Screaming the whole time. It was awful, but she did a good job. We couldn't leave her. When we left, she was in the trailer, and happy.
Anyway, she kind of went up and down, getting a little better, then a little worse etc. For two years she did this.
Today we had her feet trimmed. I noticed when Stephanie was bringing her up, she didn't limp. When her feet were trimmed, Stephanie lunged her at a trot. Video attached. Still didn't limp. Mo saw this and said, lets put her in the round pen. Then, as only Mo can do, she was riding her in about 5 minutes. Pictures attached. Mo also found a tatoe on her lip. She is a retired TB race horse.
Some of you will remember Dreamer when we first got her. This is in the top three of my happy days at Horse Rescue. The other two are when Vanilla Bean let me pet her for the first time, and when Norma Jean turned and looked at me in the round pen. There have been countless other good days, but this is a top three one.
Life is Good !
