Brandy is a pony mare, approx. 10 years old. She is very cute, small (12 hands, suitable for child to ride). She is bay with a wide blaze and one blue eye. This mare, along with her 6 month old filly and another mare Silivida, were purchased by the Elma community and donated to our wonderful foster home in Elma. These three horses were reportedly being starved and the community raised money and purchased all 3 horses from the owner for $500. SAFE has been assisting in finding permanent homes for the three horses. Brandy was believed to be pregnant when she came in but was checked by a vet and was not found to be pregnant. Brandy was adopted by a family in Gig Harbor WA in May 2006, but after working with her, they determined that she is a bit too much pony for their 3 year old daughter, and is too small for their older daughter. She lunges, trailers, bathes, is good with the farrier and vet, stands tied, and is an easy keeper. She is up to date on farrier, shots, worming and has recently passed a pre-purchase exam with flying colors. She will stand quietly to be groomed and willingly leadlines young children, but needs a confident rider to ride her off a leadline.

Brandy was placed by her owner with Farrel McWhirter park where she will be used as a lesson pony. We hope this works out well for her!
