Just found out about the board from JTaft, who said I better get over here to tell my wonderful success stories!
I recognize a few names here from the CBER board back when I rescued BABBIT the mini stallion and CYPRESS the POA stallion. I brought them back here and Babbit stayed with Jaime for 30 days since I only had space to isolate one of them at a time here.
Well I found a home for Cypress right after his quarantine was up, he was sold for the same price I paid for him to the most delightful little girl who paid for him with money she had personally saved (a fat envelope of small bills!). Her mother is a trainer, and they wanted to train him and show him. They have had him now for 1-1/2 years, and I tell you that story could not have ended any better! I had my young horse started at that facility last fall and got the opportunity to see Cypress's person work with him regularly. They are the CUTEST pair ever!!! They do everything together and that little pony, who had no training on him whatsoever when I got him from the feedlot, is as broke as they come. He is now known as "Prince." He is going to have a great life, I am sure! If Sammy ever sells him, I may buy him back for my new little granddaughter.
Babbit came to live with me after his quarantine was up. He is a great little guy, was pretty wary in the beginning, but he came around pretty quick. I got him gelded and put him on a weight-gaining diet. One day a friend of mine came over and met him and fell in love with the little guy. He eventually went home with her, and is now living his life as a companion to her Lippizan gelding. They are great friends, and are so cute together! Another great storybook ending. They come up for visits now and then, it is always fun to see them. His name is now "El Brebon," which means The Rascal in Spanish.
So that is the story of two wonderful successes!
