OK.....Here's the story......A few years back we bought our daughter her first horse and sadly it didn't turn out quite the way we wanted it to. He is a great horse - but needed an owner with a stronger hand. We wanted to find him a forever home and spent a very long time trying to find him that perfect home. As we all know when you give a horse away you get all kinds of people calling and interested in it for many reasons.....so the process of finding him a good home was not easy. Not to mention this was our daughters first horse and she was devastated at the thought of giving him away - but she knew he wasnt a good match for her. We ended up giving him to a great family that promised to keep him forever. For the last few years we have kept in contact with this family and they have emailed many pictures and updates on how he is doing. Well, we got an email this weekend that they can not keep Toby and are asking our help in finding him a new home. From our experience with him - he is a great horse - with a great personality - but definitely requires an experienced handler. He has done dressage and jumping - but his favorite thing is trail riding. He will go and go and go......doesn't spook at anything and is easy to trailer. He is very young for his age - still has alot of energy and will make someone a great horse!
The information below came from his current owner:
Toby - Thoroughbred Gelding
Approximate age is 20
Height 16.2 hands
Weight 1200 pounds
Health is excellent but hard to keep weight on
UTD on worming, shots, and trimming
Great personality
Currently ridden on road and trails and does not spook at busses, big trucks, or loud noises
Needs experienced rider or else will take advantage of her
Rides well with Old Mac Boots
Works good in an arena and as a lesson horse
Faults: Hard to keep weight on, heard bound, must lunge before riding or do “join up” (round pen or chase in a pasture) to get him to listen and settle down.

As you can imagine it was very sad for our daughter to find out that his current owner can't keep him now and we would love to see him find a good home. If anyone has any suggestions of where else to post his info - or ideas on finding him a good home - please let us know.....
I have pictures of Toby - if you are interested - let me know....
(I don't know how to post them)
