I don't mean to go on and on about Holly but I was so very impressed. Mswan has done a fantastic job with these two girls and it shows. They are both so sweet and gentle. They seems so compliant with their ground handling. Did I mention Holly's color was stunning? : ) She has really filled out nice and has excellent proportions. Her eyes are captivating. Very colorful but still soft and sweet. If you like color and you like appys she is a super choice. : )

Well, thank you for the compliments. I have enjoyed working with these little girls. Holly is wonderful! I'm surprised you haven't talked about Emma. She was so cute. Emma tested these new people then decided they were alright. She presented her butt for scratching. It was very cute.

Well shucks, you have uncovered my selfishly motivated tendency to suddenly stop saying nice things about horses I hope to get. : ) I guess I fear a bidding war ya know. ; ) If people find out what a star she really is they are gonna flood SAFE with adoption request and I might miss out.
We absolutely love Emma and hope to adopt her when she is ready. How's that for an endorsement? : )
We just don't have enough room for all of them. If we did it would be quite possible I would be very quiet on these boards. It's also quite possible I would still be yappy, but you never know. : )

So that is your plan. I don't know how the adoption works but getting the paper work in would be the first step I think. I imagin that a site inspection is needed too. A bidding war....that would be good for SAFE. The truth is that there are way too many horses needing homes so I think you are safe. Emma would like you to come scratch her butt. Sorry about the toe:)))

I have started looking at land again (20+ acres) and my husband just looks at me and shakes his head!!!

Hopefully I paid our references enough to give us a glowing review. (Ha ha!) If we have enough pluses to outweigh our minuses then I guess we only await the counties time table and the horses time table. When those are ready and if we pass muster we'll be happily making some trips with the horse trailer. : )

Holly is being made provisionally available for adoption.
The provisions are that the adopter must sign a separate contract with King County as they are evidence in an open case. For details of this contract, please PM me.
Adoption Fee: $500

Holly is doing good. I have given her my TB gelding as a pasture buddy and that is working out good. At night they are brought into their own paddock and stall. I am in AZ taking care of my daughter, who just had surgery but I get daily reports on Holly and the rest of my critters. I can't beleive how well the horses do here in 112 heat! Holly is a wonderful horse and will make someone a special friend. I have enjoyed working with her.

A Holly update... It's been a while since I've let you know how Holly is doing. She is really good! Although, yesterday when I went out to bring horses in I found her on the driveway. The other three horses were still in the pasture. She had jumped to gate, broke the hot wire over the gate and bent the heck out of the gate. She had a couple small scratches was all and very unworried about the whole thing. Daphene was out today and trimmed holly's feet. Daphene told me that the Carnation kids use to jump the barbed wire to get water. Ok, but a five foot hot fence is too much. The water tub was full! Holly feet are looking great and we are working on getting her clipped. She doesn't seem to mind that at all. I hope to at least bring her to the horse show. Maybe show her in showmanship depending on if we learn enough by then. Holly is growing and her butt is taller than her front end right now. Look for her at the horse show!

That would be so cool to have Holly at the show! I haven't seen her since the day she was taken from Carnation.

Pictures of Holly, I am guessing about 6 months old in these photos. Holly's dam was called Mellie and was a registered appaloosa named Moonlight Melody. As far as we know, she was owned by Jean at the time of the seizure, but was not found. It is believed Jean may have given her to a friend prior to the seizure, whether permanently or "just until the heat was off" is unknown. Holly's sire is Chico's Last Sundance, a leopard appaloosa - see Sinatra's thread for photos of him posted by his current owner. You can see Annie in the background of these photos.

Wasnt she adorable? Glad to hear she is doing well and is spunky enough for some mischief. She wouldnt be healthy and normal if she didnt get into a little innocent trouble.
