She's a nice mare. Is that a loose ring snaffle she's going in?

I believe it is a french link snaffle. She is a SUPER nice mare and so fun to ride. Maybe you will have to give her a go while you are up this weekend?

It is a loose ring with a center bean (technically not a french link in the purest sense) that has a swivel joint so the two halves can rotate - making the whole thing as flexible as possible for independent action of the reins without twisting in the mouth. Here is another picture - the others are refusing to load and I am running out of time.

I rode her again last night, the weather could not have been more perfect. She has such a great mind and she is so fun to ride! I had a tough time catching her in the paddock, she kept running away from me..... until I started petting Dolce, then she was OK with me catching her. Her fitness is improving and so many people at Edensgate have commented on her beauty. She is a really great horse and I hope she finds her special person soon. But not too soon....

I worked with Cedar again last evening, Monica was there and took some pictures and video, and the sun was shining so Cedar and I were happy. She is still being difficult about being caught, but separating her from two of her "herdish" pasturemates helped considerably.
We worked on standing still at the mounting block and correct canter leads and she is doing great. I've put some poles out to start trotting her through to help her reach down and start paying attention to where her feet go, and a canter pole to start learning distance. She is an energetic, but steady mount.

She's doing great, rode her again on Sunday with my husband shooting a little video - this time something I can actually compress for an online "Cedar video" this week - not that Alison didn't look lovely on her, I just can't export it to my computer at the moment.
She is getting kinda rotund on good grass right now. Her fitness level is still moderate. She is much easier to work around on the ground - and has three of four feet trimmed and Daphne was able to hold the fourth, so soon...
She looks great. feels great, needs a personal attendant!

I rode Cedar last night with Julie accompanying me on her lovely gelding Earl. Cedar paid no attention to him, she didn't try to race or anything, although she squealed when he flirted with her. Mares. She is doing great picking up her back feet, she let me pick them up for a few seconds with no protests and picks up her front like a champ. Her tail is filling in and is SOOOOOO thick and glossy, she is the envy of all the other mares. She is doing very well under saddle and continues to be a sensible and energetic ride.
