I know it's a bit short notice but there's a 4H tack sale at the Sales Pavilion at Emerald Downs tomorrow and yesterday Lynn & I made a quick decision to take some of the items she's been storing for a future tack sale for SAFE. I took down 11 saddles & 25+ other tack/apparel items today and I have to say the folks there were AMAZING!! they saw me coming, grabbed a couple of wheel barrows, a few extra hands and practically hauled in the whole load themselves. Then a team inventoried, tagged & carted off everything to the sales floor in about 1 hour. I was very impressed! They also had someone who regularly sales tack on ebay come and help with pricing. 4H will take an 18% commission but the rest will go to SAFE! I doubt we could have come up with a better venue or potential customer base and we'll hopefully move most of this stuff and help our horses & 4H in the process... There's a $10 early bird pass you can get at the door from 7:30 - 9:00am and then it's free to the public. As of 2:30pm today the entire sales floor at the Sales Pavilion was full of saddles, tack, show apparel & everything else horse related. There's also one special room for high-end gear. The pricing seemed very fair and I saw a lot of nice stuff coming in! The Sales Pavilion is the large green building located north of Emerald Downs....and still north of the Quarter Chute Cafe & WA Racing Commission offices. I also got recognized there as "Jet from SAFE" and Jaime will laugh because she said it was my pink hat & Jacket that tipped her off!

Planning to attend! Thank you for posting hours, I had emailed them and gotten no response. Looking for a nice leather bridle.
Good luck, everyone!

Just got back from picking up the no-sale stuff and I'm estimating we'll end up with about $470+ after 4H takes it's commission. Not too bad for very little effort (at least on my part!)
I think we should take our stuff there every year! They do a great job of organizing and I basically showed up w//the stuff and picked up what didn't sell...they did all the rest! It was all organized and easy!
They also said they'd like to do it again at the same location and that they had WAY more early birds willing to pay the extra $10 to get in on the good stuff ahead of everyone else!

I got the check in the mail today.... $473.96
Not bad for minimal effort on our part to prepare or advertise for it. It really just took getting some of the donated items down to the sales pavilion.
I think we'll do it again, perhaps with another 4H group, maybe the Monroe sale in March(ish) and certainly aim for this same sale at Emerald Downs next fall.
