Oh Chelsea...so very sorry to hear this. But wow, what a life you gave this horse.....he lived a wonderful life these past few years, he was treated like a king and he knew he was respected and honored for the grand old man that he was, as well as deeply loved. RIP sweet Sarge...and hugs to you Chelsea. Rather than thinking of it as a hole in your heart, think of it as a special spot that will always be reserved for Sarge.

I'm so very sorry. Sarge was such a wonderful horse. His life with you was the dream of what we wish every old timer could have. Thank you for sharing his story with us.

I am so sorry Chelsea. You were a saint to this horse as much as he was to you. I know he felt honored to be with you and even if he isn't physically there now - he is still with you always.

When I read about you loosing Sarge on Facebook I cried, and I am crying now. My sincere condolences on your loss. I remember when you got him from CBER. He could not have asked for a better person to take care of him in his senior years. You proved to many people that a senior horse has value and should not be thrown out like yesterdays trash. I applaude you for your compassion and commitment to him. I can not imagine how much you will miss him. Rest easy old man, you will be missed by more people than you ever knew.

I am so very sorry. I have brought up Sarge's picture before on my computer (the couple from the SAFE show) and had people guess how old he was. I then would tell anyone who would listen that he is a perfect example of how to take care of a horse! You did right by Sarge, and I know Sarge is up on the rainbow bridge. He was obivously happy and had the retirement fitting the gentleman he was. Again, I am so sorry.

Chelsea, I am so sorry to hear about Sarge. That grand ole man taught all of us a thing or two about older horses. He was a wise old soul that will always be with you. Take care Chelsea.

Oh Chelsea, I understand how sad you are, his loss is almost surreal, I understand how heartbreaking losing these special old pros can be. It was an honor to see him at the Safe show a few years ago. I remember crying when I saw the sad horse sitting at that feedlot years ago in pics. Thank You for taking care of him.

Aw Chelsea, I am so sorry for your loss. But thank you for giving him such a fantastic (later) life. Your love for him made him a very well known and admired old man. Thanks for sharing all the photos of him. I know you're going to miss him a ton, but you know that he'll always be with you.
rest in peace, Sarge.
