About all Donida will have as far as equipment goes will be poles and jump standards, a small portable PA system for the flat classes and thats it. We will need to acquire all the equipment necessary for Trails and Gaming.
Please post what has been acquired and what is still needed so we have a better picture of where those areas stand.
Is the 4-H group that is running the Gaming Arena able to provide the equipment? Including score-keeping? I also know from experience that gamers like to know their times right off the bat. There will not be a PA system available for that arena, or Trails, so that is something to think about as well.

No PA system is fine for trails. I've never had one, so don't think I would have a use for one even if I did have one.
Here's what I need for trails:
Bridge Gate Some kind of weave poles (or cones would work too)
For all you wonderful people out there who have your own trails stuff in your home arenas, could you PLEASE bring these things for me? I am coming all the way over from Idaho, so it's difficult for me to make something here and haul it over. If I can get some awesome help from someone closer, I would GREATLY appreciate it.
I will need whatever you bring from about 9A-4P. Trails is open from 10A-3P, so if you absolutely have to leave @ 3, that's fine.
Wendy & Craig, do you still have our favorite log? ;D
Please post what you can bring so I know what I need to try to come up with!!!

The 4H group that is coming does not have their own equipment but we do have the use of the following:
One member of their group is bringing 4 barrels
Catherine/Griffinwood is bringing 3 or 4 more barrels, 4 poles on bases & some ground poles.
Chrissy, my trainer is out of town, but I'm nearly positive that she can bring 4-6 additional poles on bases.
I am bringing my mailbox & pseudo waterfall (unless someone has a better one!!)
We do NOT have a TIMER so unless someone has an automatic timer than can lend us, we will need a good stopwatch!!!

Perhaps Wendy or Amy would loan out their bridge for the trail class?
I think I may have one or two timers left over from previous SAFE shows. I will look. I also have a few trot poles I can bring, if they are needed (sounds like you may have plenty).

So we still need:
Trails - Gate for the Trails course Log for the Trails course Bridge for the Trails course
Games - Timer for Gaming Loudspeaker for Gaming
I am going to say that we'll need a measuring tape as well to measure the strides for the Hunter Hack jumps, barrel distances, pole distances, etc. I only have a 10', I think we'll need at least a 50'.

I think we're good on ground poles! Thanks for the mail box, Jet!
As far as the poles on bases, I need about 6 of those. My understanding is gaming should only need 2-3 at most? Maybe I'm wrong on that.....
And if I can squeeze them out, I'd like two of the barrels as well. I'm trying to get creative this year since I can't have my goats and trying to come up with some new ideas for obstacles. Two barrels would be helpful! ;D

I have a log that you could use. It is 8-10 inches in diameter, and I think around 8 ft long. It is a little chewed on here and there but would still function if you have nothing better.
I do have a bridge I could bring, but would only recommend it as a last resort. It is fairly narrow and short and is starting to age so I'd probably need to do some reinforcement work to feel good about it holding up all day.

Would a sheet of plywood work for a "bridge"? A wee bit on the ghetto side, but bridges appear to be hard to come by.

Sheet of plywood would work just fine! Still produces a different footing. We'll just say "inventive" instead of "ghetto" ;D Does anyone have one laying around we can use?

HAPPY NEWS! We have a bridge...and a darn good one at that! Someone at my barn made a platform out of an old card-table sized formica table top, raised, reinforced and covered the surface with stall matting so it has great footing. I'll bring it on Friday along with the cool new Mail Box on a stand and the ribbon/waterfall if it's needed. If not..fine but It will be there in case.
