I was given some brochures/cards from our Gaming Sponsor, Torklift today to include in any Goodie Bags we might be giving away at the time of registration.
I'm going to aim for 150 bags (hoping we have that many participants)
This would be a great way for the sponsors and vendors to get more exposure. If we can get donations of candy, chips or other goodies, that would be awesome too...in fact, I'll contact Tim's cascade chips who donated once before to see if they'd do it again.
For all the sponsors and vendors who are already participating, would can the contacts for those business/organizations check with them to see if they've got something they can "throw in the bag" please?
I'm checking on actual bags from another event I'm doing next week. So along with EVERYTHING ELSE everyone is doing...or for those who haven't found a pre-show chore to handle, let's keep our eyes open for good idea/stuff. Let's NOT buy anything though. I'd like this all to be donated or informational.

I am game for helping stuff the bags. 150...I will see what else I can collect from other vendors for these bags! Do you have the bags themselves? Contact Costco too! I think they will donate to worthy causes!

o there's bound to be at least 150 this show is awesome ya know...I keep thinking that too...with the number of "groups" I hear are coming I don't know how we can be under 100 horses..easy. We're bringing at least 7 from ours and I think my trainer's bringing at least 4. I keep hearing about whole barns gearing up for this so I think this could be the MOST AMAZING SHOW EVER... That might be a Pre-Reg point...the first 150 get a bag....geez, do we know how many stalls are available? I have a good feeling about this one!!!

Oh, I've been there ... just never put much thought into how many horses they can hold for a show. I've seen LOTS of horses but when you get wrapped up into one or two, you don't really take the time to calculate how many stalls there actually are. We've been in the C barn a few times, in the Aqua barn once and in the portables a few times as well & I have to say, I've always been happy with all of them.
I wish we could know how many are coming...for sure! But I think we know that lots of people decide to come much closer to the date.
THREE WEEKS...and counting!!

haha ya, when i went there for the first time i walked around and the portable stalls were full of tall grass is was quite funny actaully... i stumbled into the dressage barn, too. the trainer was so nice i explained that i got lost and she was completely cool about it. She even showed me all the horses in the barn ( she told me she loved showing them off haha) that place has some pretty high class horses

It would be great if we could include the show programs in the bags as well!! That's a great idea!! While I was at Donida today I asked the EI folks how many horses they had, keeping in mind that ALL of their classes are scheduled so you only see a handful of horses at one time so it doesn't give you a feel for how many horses are there. They said they had 190 horses there today and that the max capacity is 220. The place didn't seem crowded at all until the end of the show and all the trailers were qued to pick up...holy smokes!! It was busier than I've ever seen it!! So....there's our answer, I guess.... 220 stalls to rent. I'm going to see what else I can find for free from lots of places, even if they don't 'sponsor', they just won't get mentioned on the PA or printed in the program. But if they really maximum exposure they can sponsor a class or award. Meanwhile, Please be thinking of places who'd like to donate items to the bags and we'll stuff them!! BUT PLEASE ask for a sponsorship to go with it!! THAT would be the best ;D

I'll take my horse(s) in the night before so if we want, we could have a little gift bag party and make them then

I got 50 bags donated by Olson's today! We could still use more but I will keep trying...they don't all have to be the same bag, but the PERFECT Bag is a sturdier poly bag (plastic) that could hold a sheet of paper without folding it. I have some white paper sacks we can improvise with but I'd like to advertise for someone if we can...
So far we have inserts from: Torklift K & S Saddlery Hicky Feed & Tack Candy! Pens from K&S & Graham Feed
We will also be putting the show program in the bags!
If anyone would like to contribute more items to put into the bag, please bring them to the showgrounds Friday. If we've already stuffed the bags, then you can insert them yourselves but we want all the bags ready by check in time on Saturday morning.

I have some flat-heavy duty plastic bags that measure 13 x 23" would that work? I can bring as many as we need-is there a bag stuffing party Friday?
