I keep thinking about this and wondering what possessed him to start nursing again. You would think that after what, 6 months or so ( ) that it wouldn't even occur to him to start nursing. What a goof!

Some do it for comfort. Sinatra and Kokomo 'nursed' on each other right after they came to SAFE, "comfort nursing" is the term I have heard. Maybe Scotti was doing it to say "I'm a baby, stop chasing me". He should be an actor, lol.

This mare just gets in your heart, even though she seems somewhat aloof... She's still one of my favorites and even though she didn't seem to have much overt interest in me, I could tell she was always watching me from afar. She was tolerant of my face rubs to rid her of flies and let me mask her readily. I still maintain that she'd have a home with me forever if I had my own place... I like this photo because she nearly looks like she's smiling

She has come so far. It makes me sad to think Ella did not get the chance she deserved to have a good life.

Jasmine before: Jasmine after: I can't believe the horse in the first picture is the same one we spiffed up this afternoon! She was totally posing for her photo shoot, such a pretty lady ;D

Jasmine before: That just makes me want to kiss her whole face and hug her neck to tell her she'll never live another moment anywhere remotely close to this state. I know she can be a little distant but this horse gets to me on many levels. Kisses for Jasmine!!!! LOVE the after shot too!

And to think I tease her about her long lipped face! She looks beautiful.

I think she's beautiful and has a soulful face. To think that someone, a human being, actually did that to her and her sweet Ella....

Jasmine got her teeth done courtesy of Dr. Taylor and NWESC. She has really come a long way from where she started and I don't have any trouble catching her now. She will even come up to me for attention! She did great for the shot for the sedation but it did take a few pokes before she was sleepy enough to allow the dental. Really though, she has really come around and although we aren't advertising her as a riding horse, she has turned into a very nice companion horse as well. She is an easy keeper, has great feet, and while tends to be alpha in a herd she is not a nasty leader and gets along well with other horses.
