There is something about this little boy that makes me think about him off and on throughout the day...even though I'm in the midst of a hellish season launch down here in LA. I just love this little guy...I'm so relieved that he seems to be doing just fine.

Since the sun is making more frequent appearances, should Sinatra get a flymask to protect his baby blues from the sun? Are blue eyes more sensitive to sunlight? Whatabout some sunscreen for his pink skin?

Allison - was thinking the same thing. I need to go through what we have but I suspect I might already have one that fits him. We'll put it on our agenda for tomorrow.

Are blue eyes more sensitive to the light? How much sun protection does his fur give him? He is still pretty furry.

Its not so much the blue eyes as it is the pink skin around them that is sensitive - he'll probably always need face protection in the sun.

My daughter is sitting here with me looking at the pictures and first she says, "cute ponies" then....
"MY PONIES... MOMMY, MY PONIES!"
They sure are looking good!

So Saturday was Kokomo's day to scare me, and last night was Sinatra's. He bolted his grain and within seconds was choking. It was 7:30 when it happened and I knew Hannah was in the middle of putting Cadillac down, but I called to give her a heads up and pulled his food (much to Phoenix's dismay, who shares a stall with him) and stroked his neck to help get the blockage to pass. Fortunately, he passed it on his own quickly. Now both Phoenix and Sinatra get their grain tubs complete with several large rocks - a trick I learned a while back to keep horses from bolting their grain.

What a scare. Glad he was able to pass it on his own. YIKES.
Neat trick about the rocks. I never heard of that one before.

Is it probable that Sinatra's sire was Seas the Golden Day?

Allison - it is almost a certainty with him. Cremello is a rare color and requires a cremello parent. More than likely the palominos are by him also, and Lily could be also - although the buckskin could have also come from her dam.
