Does anyone live in the Auburn area who can ask the Iron Horse Casino in Auburn for a sponsorship? I live so far away to go down there right now and they have done things in the past to help dogs. The general manager there is named Janna Johnson and casinos, especially smaller card rooms like to get advertising out as much as possible, plus there's less of a wait time to get an answer as opposed to some of the bigger tribal casinos. Do you think that a personal visit is good or an email? I am in the local area, know where that is..in fact, I'll be in Auburn tomorrow for the Lynn Reardon book signings at Emerald Downs...I have packets in my car!!! a personal visit might get things done faster, plus it's easier to say no to an email I think.

I will head over to Reber today. My daughter is in 4H for dogs, but I can ask for contacts in the horse groups as I *believe* they all meet together occasionally and have contact info.
I have a few other ideas I want to look into. After this weekends (dog) herding event I will be able to sit down and brainstorm a bit more.
Jeanette - as an aside - A friend of mine - Karen who had Rosie (she said you would know) says "HI' and that she will see you at the signing tonight at Emerald Downs. Also - I sent a very general (no names) email to Muckleshoot and got shot down, but if you know someone on the inside that would be better. I know in other states the casinos do help out, so maybe some face time with them will change their minds.
I also wanted to contact my nieces girl scout group. Maybe they collectively would be able to sponsor or half sponsor a class I am hoping. I know many of those girls are horse lovers and it doesn't hurt to ask!

Torklift International has pledged to sponsor the Gaming Arena!
They're so excited that they're going to bring a rig (truck/trailer) to set up in the vendor area and will provide stuffer coupons for the participant bags! YAY!!!
FYI....
Torklift Central in Kent was where LynnM and I attended their Horse Trailer Safety Seminar a few months ago and found it extremely informative and helpful. They can fabricate custom trailer items, like adjusting your swing arm or pretty much anything else you can think of. In fact, ON THE SPOT, they came up with a solution to Lynn's wandering door and installed a latch for it right then!
I totally trust them and believe they are thorough!! Best of all, the Sales & Marketing Rep, Jessie, is an avid horse woman too!
So...just in case you need some trailer, hitch or RV issues looked at, please make sure you heard about it through SAFE!
315 Central Ave. N. Kent, WA 98032 1-877-343-6933
Meanwhile.....ONE MORE SPONSORSHIP!!!! YAY!!!!!

Yes, TorkLift is awesome. Another possibility is www.trailersnorthwest.com/ in Maple Valley by Cedar Grove Road. I don't get up that way much anymore, but maybe someone up that way can check them out.

If anyone does approach a sponsor, here are some key points that seem to have been impressive to them:
We have a facebook page and this Message Board with more than 1000 participants each.
We expect 150+ participants (ok...I hope that's right, cuz that's what I said! I think I heard there were 100+ last year so with more events, more folks, right?)
and lots of spectators...since it's a family friendly event and supports rescue.
and what I'm calling a "well traveled" website...maybe if there are some easy stats on our daily hits and such we could quote that as well...
If it's a horse-related business, tell them how much horse people LOVE their product and if it's not horse related, play up the community atmosphere and tell them how much it would mean to have them support their local community.
Hope that helps!!
anyway, any stats you can give to help them understand how it makes sense to spend money on our event are helpful. Be creative and share here .... we all need a little inspiration!!!

I think that is one of the things we need a Donida Liason to figure out for us. I am not sure what Donida's policies are regarding vendors.

Great news! Museum Quality Framing has agreed to sponsor the Dressage Arena!
Big thanks to Beta for making this sponsorship possible!!!
We now have sponsors for each of our three smaller arenas:
Parrotheads of Puget Sound - Trails Arena Sponsor Torklift - Gaming Arena Sponsor Museum Quality Framing - Dressage Arena Sponsor
That leaves the Main Arena as the only one left to sponsor.
Thank you so much, Beta!!
Let's keep rolling with those $100 high point sponsors! Have you asked your employer? Your friends? A business you frequent regularly? People WANT to help, you just have to ask! It's for a great cause and it's tax deductible!

Hey everyone - I am starting a Vendor Thread with answers to many asked questions. If you are thinking about pitching a tent...this is an awesome place to do it. You will be right in the center of things.

Oh. If possible could I sponsor the Bribe your horse? I think that Denali could have given Sargy a run for his money. Thanks Denali, this one is yours! I can't make it this year, so you guys will just not have as much competition in Bribe. I believe WLF is fairly sure Sarge can outrun her and is not brave enough to try it herself. But if she does, take video please

new High Point sponsor: Columbia Equine Hospital in Gresham OR!!
thanks to CardiCorgi for that one!
If she can get a vet hospital in OREGON to kick in, we should all have NO PROBLEM finding sponsors for the rest of the high points! We are several more than need to be filled. It's only $100.....

By my reckoning, we now have the following amounts pledged for sponsors:
High Point Sponsors - 5 total to date = $500
Arena Sponsors - 3 total to date = $750
That brings our total up to $1,250 which is great, but it is well short of what we need to put this show on. We already have the following expenses:
Show ground rental: $700 Ribbons: $581
So we don't have quite enough to even cover those yet. I also really want to be able to order t-shirts for this year's show, but without more sponsorship money, that won't be happening.
So let's keep the momentum going. Please don't be afraid to ask people to help us! They want to help, they just need to know about the show in order to get involved.
