I think bestiality occurs a lot more than we realise.
My sister in law, when she and her cousins were doing 4H at the local fair one year, walked into a barn late at night, caught a teen boy with his ewe. He was sent home in disgrace.
A WA newspaper article - A woman came home early from work, caught her husband with her two female pit bulls, she quietly took pics of him in action on her camera phone, called the police, showed them the pics, had him arrested and immediately filed for divorce.
I remember looking up "sex" in Encyclopedia Britannica, when I was about 12 years old. I clearly remember reading that according to a study, 20 % (yes twenty %) of USA farmers admitted having sex with an animal !! It freaked me out for days!!

The Ewww factor on this one is way up there.
There's more to this train wreck than meets the eye. Thanks to an article about the link between Tait and Spink, I'm (unfortunately) 99.9% sure of the Enumclaw facility. No doubt Spink was involved/knew about that operation. It was almost the perfect setup.
Let's hope the authorities chase down the leads. These folks are truly sick.

Speak up - Animals from bestiality case need your help Urgent, court date is this Friday! www.pasadosafehaven.org/articles/10.5.27/Spink/Spink_Update.htmlThe Whatcom County Sheriff’s office is continuing their investigation into Douglas Spink and the activities on his Suma, WA compound. Spink was arrested for parole violation last month after a federal raid on his residence turned up evidence of an animal sex operation. Read more on the history of this case here. Spink may ultimately be charged with animal cruelty but in the meantime seven dogs and four horses removed from the scene are being cared for by the Whatcom County Humane Society in Bellingham, WA. This organization has spent thousands of dollars caring for the innocent animals at the center of this despicable operation and have now filed a motion with the courts so they may be awarded permanent custody of the animals. Until custody is decided there is a chance that Spink can get the animals back. This must not happen! They have suffered unimaginably and deserve to be kept safe, away from Spink or anyone associated with him. The Humane Society will not be able to make the necessary arrangements for the long-term care of the animals until they are awarded custody. What You Can Do!
Join Pasado's in a peaceful presence at the following:
Friday, June 11th at 1:30 pm Whatcom County Superior Court Bellingham, WA The Judge will decide who takes ownership of the animals
Monday, June 14, 2010 at 9 am Seattle Courthouse Seattle, WA Parole Violation TrialWe must send a strong message to the courts to protect these animals from any further harm and award custody of the dogs and horses to the Whatcom County Humane Society as soon as humanly possible. Please send a polite and professional message to speakup@pasadosafehaven.org voicing your support for the motion filed by the Whatcom County Humane Society. Please reference case #10-2-01265-2. We will deliver your comments to the Judge. If you would like to make a donation to the Whatcom County Humane Society to help with the considerable expenses they have incurred caring the animals, please visit their website www.whatcomhumane.org/

Man, I would love to have Capone. That is one nice horse. I wonder, if the horses are adopted out, gelding would be required?

I don't know what Whatcom County's adoption policies are. My guess the stallions will be sold to pay off his extensive debts to the county for caring for the seized animals. I would bet if the county gets ownership they will hold some type of online auction. These are not horses I would expect them to adopt out at rescue price...they would be overwhelmed (I am sure they already are) with applications.

I don't know what Whatcom County's adoption policies are. My guess the stallions will be sold to pay off his extensive debts to the county for caring for the seized animals They require alteration of all animals who do not have a legitimate owner, who are relinquished or seized, then adopted out, that is typical. Corinne Super is petitioning for custody as the owner, she has paperwork showing she owns this stallion. Otherwise, the shelter will be extremely cautious who these animals go to, due to Mr Spink's beasty friends who would be trying to get hold of these trained animals. The shelter will probably transfer them to other shelters quietly behind the scene to avoid that kind of interest, and the dogs will certainly be neutered before release. The shelter's hearing on Friday is in regards to the lawsuit they filed against Mr Spink for the costs of care plus impoundment fees, they total so far to over $16,000. It has been obvious by now, that despite his claims to the contrary, no "syndicate" owns this stallion at all, that was a propaganda bit by this individual to avoid loss in bankruptcy court a number of years ago. No "Syndicate" has ever come forward expressing concern for "their" stallion, not when Spink file for bankruptcy, not when he was arrested in 2005 on drug charges, serving three years in prison for that, and not even now with global press on this case. This gorgeous stallion was living with Cantour and seven dogs in that craphole of a garbage dump shown in those photos above that the humane society took. Friday is the hearing on the fate of the animals, remember to send Pasado's Safe Haven an email letter for them to give the judge. To requote: Please send a polite and professional message to speakup@pasadosafehaven.org voicing your support for the motion filed by the Whatcom County Humane Society. Please reference case #10-2-01265-2. We will deliver your comments to the Judge.I’ve also recently come across a Superior Court Case List, that shows that in 2008 Spink was a respondent in a Domestic Violence case. Anyone surprised here? Anyone?

Thank you black/white for the additional information. I am glad to hear Corrine is trying to get Capone back - she should get him back. As for the other stallions, I don't know much about them but don't see why they shouldn't be gelded like any other rescue, valuable or not. There are plenty of other, even extremely nice Warmblood stallions in the world and I also would worry about what kind of inappropriate behaviors might have resulted from whatever Spink was doing with these stallions that actually might make then dangerous to people if they remain unaltered.
