Yay Julie for instilling some soon-to-be manners in him - and also Val for learning how to bandage this type of wound...
He looks good - such a handsome little guy!

Rhythms Licorice and Lace has 4 lines to 5-gaited Wing Commander plus one to his full sib Private Contract. Wing Commander was known for an incredibly trainable, sensible temperament, very easy to handle his entire life. Although rather far back in the pedigree, The good legged Stonewall King, known also as a family of late maturers (and too intelligent!) and very long lived. So I would not worry too much about the height or scragglyness of a 2-yr old who was on short rations from this bloodline, many get their height quite late in life 6-7, unlike some early maturing and high nutrition TB stock.
Fantastic job with the injury!

I went to Julie's yesterday for another round of bandage changing - the wound is almost completely closed now and I am thinking yesterday just MIGHT be our last bandage change. I am going out on Thursday for the next scheduled change and Hannah will come out as well to make the "to bandage or not" call. He is so sweet - he has a bit of the colt nippiness but not bad and he really enjoys the attention. I just love him and words cannot describe how beautiful is face is - the only unfortunate thing is it does appear that he may have a halter scar across the bridge of his nose, it has white hairs so I am thinking it may be permanent...I don't recall ever seeing white hairs revert back to color. But it doesn't diminish his cuteness factor not one iota.

I had the pleasure of meeting Rythm yesterday and he is a cute little thing, he was very interested in me, but backed away from me when I entered his stall. He didn't seem to want me to touch him but once I started scratching his shoulder he was a total LOVE.
I can only describe him as happy-go-lucky, with the emphasis on lucky. I hung up the jolly-ball in one of his windows and he played with it a bit, and I also hung up a grain ball (thanks to whoever brought that for him!) for his entertainment. He must be going crazy in his stall!

Would that be one of Uncle Jimmy's Hanging Balls? The horses here in the northeast are crazy about them. Pam

Would that be one of Uncle Jimmy's Hanging Balls? The horses here in the northeast are crazy about them. Pam Yup, I loved the name too. I sent two, just checking to make sure both arrived (one was apple and one was carrot). Also would like to know at some point if they helped ease the boredom!

Yes, we got both of them, so when Rhythm eats his first ball, he has another one waiting! ;D
