A few months ago I applied for S.A.F.E. to participate in a program that will allow our volunteers to finally have a material reward for their efforts. I’m very pleased to announce that we have been approved and beginning on January 1, 2010 we are going to be participating in the Give a Day/Get a Disney Day promotion!!! By giving a day of service you’ll have the opportunity to get a free pass to one of the Disney Parks to be used this year.
You may have many questions and I’m very happy to say that super-volunteer, Lynnm, has stepped up to help us effectively participate in this program. She’ll be tracking and verifying the hours for the Disney promotion but I would suggest that each of you who are interested in receiving a Disney Day each go and read through the details. You will be required to sign up through the Hands On Network but you’ll have to wait until 1/1/10. Meanwhile here’s a note from Disney:
“There are so many reasons to celebrate. Birthdays. Anniversaries. Reunions. Or any of life's most special moments. But this year, Disney Parks is celebrating something new and that’s the good things people do for their communities. In 2010, Disney wants to inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in their communities and celebrate their good works by giving each of them one day admission to a theme park at Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World® Resort, free.
Starting January 1, 2010, Guests can go to www.disneyparks.com to search for volunteer opportunities made available through HandsOn Network and sign up for a day of volunteer service. As the nation’s largest volunteer network, HandsOn Network has 250 on-the-ground volunteer action centers across the country and connects volunteers to more than 70,000 nonprofit agencies that need their help. Many of the opportunities will be projects that entire families can participate in together.
Must pre-register and sign up for eligible volunteer opportunity at DisneyParks.com. Ticket quantities for this program are limited. Must be at least age 6 to participate. Other terms and conditions apply. For details, see DisneyParks.com “
We’re going to do a couple of weeks of testing on how the sign-up and administrative responsibilities flow but I will post more information as we get it so do be patient with us while we get into the swing of this amazing way to give back to those of you who’ve been giving your time to the horses. I don’t know about you, but I get pretty excited about spending a day at Disney!! I hope you will too
This is a kind of a THANK YOU Gift from me for all you all do...so HAPPY NEW YEAR of giving everyone!!!!!!
