You found it over on that other thread. I'll be posting a bunch on my blog about him. And I have more photos on FB from after I got him home.

He's cute! He looks like a welsh pony/quarter horse cross!

What's his story Liz? Didn't you take in a new arab recently also? How's she doing?

He was never sent through the auction. Malina had posted about him and I made the mistake of going over to look at him and mess with him a little on the halter in his pen. Had he been smaller I would not have gone back the next day. Bought him from Ron the day before Ron was going to put him on the truck to Stanwood. $50. Had been freshly gelded 2 weeks prior. Dodger's a pistol and I look forward to the day I can turn him out with my mares to let them beat up on him a bit. He's not well-socialized. I have hauled him to a friends a couple of times to turn him out with her herd of geldings and he was on social overload. I look forward to doing that more. I had plans to saddle him last week but it just didn't work out. He's got great feet and a good little build. Just want that nasty pony-stud attitude to leave sooner than later. We're making progress. I will be starting him under saddle and hopefully putting first rides on him when I have Ricky Quinn back for a clinic April 9-12 at Vetter Farms. Plan is for Dodger to be my son's horse for a few years as he's a tall enough pony that J won't outgrow him. If, for some reason, Dodger turns out to not be suitable, then I will possibly find a good job for him in Pony Club or something like that. Until I know what he's going to turn out like, I am planning on keeping him for life. I got a mare, KT, off CL back in July for $100. She's doing well for 18/19. I am noticing her vision issues and she does have some melanomas, but she's a very sweet thing. She had been raced (has a tattoo) and packed around a little girl in 4H but I don't have her full history or any paperwork on her.

That's great Liz! I realize looking back that my note seemed more... acusatory... than I meant. I missed this thread before and was interested in this guys story. Any horse that lands in your hands is lucky, lucky, lucky. I've so enjoyed watching your journey with Buena over the past many years. How great for your son!

Ah, no big deal. I didn't take it that way. Thanks. I feel like I am the lucky one as they have all been so cool to learn from. The escape artist trying to untie the knot to free himself:

First bridling and saddling yesterday. This isn't the saddle that I will be riding him in... Pretty uneventful for the most part. He did buck and rip around, but that's to be expected since he does that even without a saddle.

Just curious as to if there is a reason why your flank cinch is loose. I always have mine fairly snug so I like to see why other people do things other ways. I always have a fear that a bucking or kicking horse might put a foot through.
We had a mustang that on one of his saddlings got riled up and actually kicked his back foot through the stirrup and ripped it off the saddle. Fortunately there was no damage to horse or saddle, the blevins came undone.
thanks for the input, I always enjoy reading about your horses and have followed buena and your branaman experiences closely. He is some one I greatly look up to.

Because I need to get a shorter one; it's already cinched up to the maximum. My billets don't have enough holes in them. Thus the reason for waiting to put first ride on him. I am going to get a shorter flank cinch and girth cinch because he's the smallest little thing I have an everything is too big. Thanks for noticing and asking.
