I have a copy of the flyer as well and can't figure out how to post it here...although that seems like it should be very do-able. I'm very excited for the party

Will there be a place available for food preparation? If I wanted to bring a fruit salad, is there somewhere it could be thrown together?

there is plenty of room for food prep- fridges ect. you'll laugh when you see my house, there is plenty of room for rollerskating too. It used to be the Des Moines Boys and Girls Club... and with the number of kids we have- I think it still is...

So I have a question -- is this an open-to-the-public type of event or is it more of a party for current supporters? Do you want it advertised on the website?

We have just join this BB and are willing to help with a small monthly commitment set up through our bank, Wells Fargo. We have spent the past few years saving donkeys and horses all by ourselves spending thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars. We are honored to help in your efforts. I have been a major marketing planner working on Honda, Nissan, Dell, and Cisco accounts among others and am now retired. I would be delighted to help systematically expand the target audiences for the monthly support campaign on a volunteer basis. We need to get the monthly numbers up big time to support the feed and care needs. It would break my heart if needy horses cannot be accomodated. With the economy still bad, the need is likely to increase and this could be the worst winter ever for the horses.

well, we haven't really planned a gift or ornament exchange, just potluck (I plan to make chilli)- but really- bring whatever- but I am planning to decorate a tree with various sponsor packages. My kids and I are making small gift boxes that have a SAFE horse picture on it with their "bio" on the inside that people can purchase for $5 and give as a gift to someone, as well as some really cool bigger packages for $10. But I am certainly open to any ideas- just want to keep it simple so that people can just show up- eat drink and be merry.

So the boxes will be basically decorated with SAFE horses and then you can put a gift into it? if so...that's incredibly awesome!!!!!! I can totally come up with some fun decorated boxes that people can buy and give away!
You are so clever!!! No wonder you can make your living through your creativity :-)
Do you/we need cool sized boxes? I think I have a collection here somewhere....

Hey all.... Our donated live music is unable to attend and I've been unable to find a replacement so I hope that everyone will be happy with a selection of holiday music....and encourage everyone to sing along to make up for the lack of "live" music I hope that will not keep anyone from coming ...we'll still have a great time! I hope to see as many of you there as possible

Well it looks like I won't be able to go to the holiday party as planned since I've come down with a horrible cold and feel absolutely rotten. I hope someone takes pictures and can post a couple after it's over and let us know how much money was raised. I'm going to send my $15 in to SAFE anyway since it was already going there.
