I figured it was time to start a thread for this. We have the option of renting equipment from the local 4-H group, but seems how we're tight on funds this year, I thought perhaps we can see who can help me out here instead of renting.
Here's what I need. Hopefully someone has some of this stuff laying around or knows someone who does.
Ground poles- a minimum of 12 (landscaping poles will work for this!)
Weave poles- I need the kind that stand on their own. Usually they have a small tire or something at the bottom to help them stand. I need about 6-8. Road cones would probably work for this also.
Piece of plywood or a "bridge"
Free standing gate
Log- Got this already from honeydofarm!
Goats- Billy Bob and Ralph will be joining us again this year thanks to Laurie ;D
I have a couple more things that I will be supplying. I have my other half working on constructing them ;D
Remember, if you commit to bringing me something, I'm counting on you to be there! If we can get away with supplying these things through this group, we can save some money that can go right back to SAFE!
If you think you'd have something that would work, just ask me. I can let you know if it would work or not

Pretty sure I can get barrels and pole bending poles from my trainer - I'll see her this week and ask. I do not know if she owns trail obstacles too but I will ask about that also.
I don't have a truck though so would have to coordinate with someone who does for transporting them. She is in Rainier.

what do you mean by landscaping poles? I have bundles of really nice poles, but they are heavy bamboo, used to support large, tall plants, trees, they are about 6 ft. tall so not know if this would help?

What's the diameter of the poles? Generally ground poles are 3-4 inches in diameter. Big enough to be seen, but not big enough to be a hindrance

Hi Crystal, What time do you need "Le Log" and Craig at the show? Looking forward to seeing you again!

Well the show starts at 8. I am still unsure of where I will be staying and what time I will be arriving, but I would imagine any time after 7 should be just fine. As it gets a bit closer and I have my accommodations nailed down, I will let you know!

Thanks Jaime! I will happily take you up on that offer.
The only thing that would change that is if I have a tagalong this year. My other half is considering tagging along, but he isn't quite sure yet. I'll let you know if he decides to come, but other than that, I'll gladly stay at your farm!

I was told that I need to talk to Jeff, the groundskeeper at the show grounds. I don't suppose I'm lucky enough that anyone here has his contact information?

Whitewolf, I passed all that info on to Bonnie. I wasn't smart enough to save it on my computer : (
You can also contact Cara Cross at Frontier Park and her number is 253-841-8515 or email at ccross@co.pierce.wa.us and she should have his contact info.

Crystal, the last couple of years I brought Billy-Bob and Ralph I had them in a small pen made from my unused horse gates. The gates have now been used in the fencing. So, I was hoping it would be ok to tie the goats on the course. They are both used to being tied and I would bring a stake for each of them. What do you think?

I don't have an issue with it, but I have never been to the arena before either. Can anyone think of a reason why we couldn't?

The only concern I can think of is that the arena base may be tough to drive a stake through. Worse case scenario I guess you could tie to the fence?

I'm just gonna put this out there....cuz I ride a co-dependent spooky horse...if they spook, she spooks, and sometimes she spooks at seemingly nothing...
Would it be possible to request that the goats & ribbons be on the far fence away from the riding arena?
It's a huge arena but if they're walking by the scary stuff it could thrown things off during classes. I fully expect that my horse should just get over it...and actually is fairly ok with ribbons but if others are having a tough time, she will too!

That is completely my intention, Jet!
I'm glad you mentioned this, because to anyone who has not been to one of our shows before, please be aware that for the leadline kids, I do NOT have them go through the more "challenging" obstacles. They only go through about half of the course. I do not want to endanger any kids or anything.
