Hey folks...I'm going to step up and help Jaybird track these show sponsorship opportunities so I'm pasting over the list so I can update it: Please take a look at it and see if there's a business or two (or 5) that you can contact to see if they'd be willing to sponsor the show in some capacity. This list was previously posted and we've got some covered already but who would like to step up for any of these? How about the Graham Hay Market? - mymercedes Done
Other possible businesses in the area:
Renton Western Wear
Reber Ranch - honeydofarm Done Lazy K Tack & Feed, Auburn Mike's Western Supplies, Enumclaw Country Farm & Feed, Enumclaw
King Feed, Enumclaw - mymercedes Done Sumner Animal Grub Centerville Western Store, Tacoma
Performance Horse Gear - Spanaway Same as Pro Horse - DONE
Professional Horseman's Supply, PuyallupSame as Pro Horse - DONE
Lincoln Hardware, Tacoma
American Western Tack, Graham Closed Webster Rd Farm & Feed, Graham Olsen Mills Hayes Feed & Country Store, Seattle
Kiperts Corner, Olympia - crickert Done
The Tack Room Too, Tumwater - crickert Done The Issaquah Grange - honeydofarmK&S Saddlery, Spanaway - Coconut Done Pro Horse Country, Spanaway - Coconut Done Redmond Redmond Wear - KerstinBeth West Western Wear - KerstinAny others in the area that we should target? Here are some great stats to share with the businesses you contact to make there sponsorship more attractive: - We are a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization and their "donation" of a sponsorship is tax deductible!!
- We cover a large area in our efforts to help horses: Washington, Idaho & Oregon (and beyond)
- We have an online Message Board w/more than 800 horse-friendly folks, most of whom are actual owners
- Our volunteer list is over 200 strong
- We anticipate more than 250 attendees to the actual show: Participants & non-riding guests (ok, I'm guessing on that one but it's possible!)
- If they get in this week (wed?), their logos can be included (for appropriate level sponsorships!) on posters that will go up in hundreds of horse-centric businesses around Western Washington
- They may be able to set up a tent/booth at the show site to promote their business
So let's all get out there and find a sponsor! It doesn't have to be a horse related business, but they'll get the most out of their donation. We'll certainly take any From The Heart types of sponsorships!! ;D

I took care of the Graham Hay Market. Not much luck there so far. I will be going to King Feed in Eatonville and trying them. I have a couple of personal contacts there.

I have been trying to hit up businesses over here also, but my problem is finding ones that want to advertise to someone who lives on the west side. I'm still plugging along though. You never know!

Another good one for the locals to try is realtors. People in real estate like to give themselves good press and advertise as much as possible. If you know one, hit them up for even just a class sponsorship!

Especially realtors that specialize in selling horse property

Along those same lines, try the brokers too. They're the ones who actually run/own the offices. If there is an office in the area that seems to specialize in more rural properties, someone needs to take a packet in to them. Good chance for sponsors there. I work in real estate, but none of my realtor/broker associates want to advertise on the west side

Because we have not been able to nail down the bigger sponsors, I have decided to make the sponsors we have received to date into High Point Sponsors. I assigned the three sponsors at the $250 level based on their contributions to the show last year, so since last year, Amici's Italian Eatery donated $500, they will be presenting the Grand Champion at this year's show. Here is the breakdown of sponsors and high point awards, along with prizes being given:
Grand Champion -- presented by Amici's Italian Eatery Winner to receive a $50 gift certificate to Reber Ranch in Kent WA classes 1-44, and 47-50
English High Point Champion -- presented by Northwest Equine Stewardship Center Winner to receive an English gift package from K&S Saddlery classes 1-6, 9-21
Western High Point Champion -- presented by Tracy Setzer, Realtor Winner to receive an Western gift package from K&S Saddlery classes 1-6, 28-40
Champion Rescue Horse -- presented by Dr. Ahmad Jakish, Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner at Animal Surgical Clinic of Seattle classes 4, 9, 15, 28, 34
Champion Non-Rescue Horse -- presented by The Tack Room Too classes 5, 10, 16, 29, 35
Champion Senior Horse -- presented by Parrot Heads of Puget Sound classes 6, 11, 17, 30, 36
Champion Rider, 15 & Under -- presented by Trop's Gourmet Chocolates classes 1, 12, 18, 31, 37
Champion Rider, 16 & Over -- presented by Fresh Girls Refreshments classes 2, 13, 19, 32, 38
Champion Rider, Over the Hill -- presented by King Feed classes 3, 14, 20, 33, 39
As you can see, we have two ONE high point award left open! The first sponsor at the $100 level can sponsor this high point Award! They will receive a small ad in the show program, as well as the opportunity to hang their banner at the show grounds. What a bargain!
