I forgot to say that I would really love to be Ribbon Diva once again. That was so much fun. I may bring Kitty to view the fuss but I won't be showing.

That's the great thing about Frontier Park....STALLS! You can bring your horse, show and even ride the trails behind the arena if you want and have a stall when it's time for a break.

So I think I'm going to try to attend the show again this year . I would like to actually bring all three of my "kids". I really want to bring Khramer, but I remember the rules said no stallions last year. I've had some people from here want me to bring him, and I think it would be cool to have him there. He's been to several shows now, so I can vouch for his behavior; but I do respect rules. Not sure who is in charge of this one, but it would be nice to know. I'd probably bring him just to show halter and trail in hand, or maybe some walk trot classes.

Fanaberia, I think we should find an open show later this summer that allows stallions and go up against each other in bareback eq., just to show the world our good boys, and then whoever wants to come meet them can do that too. Most of the open shows at the Tacoma Unit do allow studs and some of them are both open and buckskin which would be nice for me

I'm with you 100%. This is the ONLY show I have ever heard of that doesn't allow stallions; most just require that the handler be 18 or over.
As I said, he's been to four shows total right now. I took him last year just to chill, I took him to sporthorse regionals to show in hand (my timing sucked, it was right before his latest growth spurt), and two local shows to show trail in hand as well as halter. I plan on riding him at a show when he's ready. But I generally don't show horses I don't think have some chance at doing well; and he's just not there yet. But he's just turning six and I've had him under a year so I'm not in a huge rush. It's okay for him to mature and just learn to enjoy being out. Until then, I have my two super-mares.

I may be wrong, but I think there are additional insurance costs when stallions are allowed. Thanks to all the non-responsible stallion owners who let them run amok

However, I carry a one million dollar liability policy on my horses courtesy of AHA. I've been showing for more years than I can remember (and a lot, I did 16 shows last year as an example) and I have not once seen stallion-related problems. As a matter of fact, I was stunned at how many stallions were at the last A show I went to. You'd never know it either unless you looked. A well trained horse is a well trained horse. Honestly, it's a greater liability to allow green horses at shows than it is to allow stallions....

We went through this last year guys...we are not allowing stallions for a variety of reasons and the policy is not subject to change or exceptions.

I didn't see anything specific on last year's thread and the premium isn't posted; so I asked.
As I mentioned, I'm happy to just bring the girls. However, if I find another show that will allow him to come I will probably choose that one since I like taking him. I also think you guys need to be aware of the fact that you are the only show with this restriction. As well as the fact that you aren't eliminating stallions from coming completely because people can always bring them in and not enter them in the show. This does frequently happen at schooling and open shows.

Wow, can we put this stallion discussion to rest? There are clearly other shows people can take their studs to if they choose that route. I have nothing against stallions, but rules are the rules. I'd love to drive 100mph on the highway but won't able to convince the judge it is alright...

Other shows are not sponsored by a horse rescue that is dealing with the effects of overbreeding on a daily basis. If you want to promote your stallion as a breeding animal this schooling show is not the appropriate venue anyway.
