To the best of my knowledge the event has not been canceled. It's my suggestion to entertain guests who show up because of the advertising we've already done and we'll put as many volunteers to work on projects both days. I'm thinking a light grooming might be in order but not the full Spa Day we had planned on Saturday the rest of the time/energy can be spent on needed projects Then Sunday, the 4th, we can continue to work on projects while we also have the tent set up as an informational booth with a few volunteers to act as SAFE reps, answer questions, introduce horses and if possible saddle up for a demo (if we still have pre-approved riders on hand....Allison mentioned that she'd be willing to ride for demo's) I don't think we'll have potential adopters riding on Sunday but we can get appointments set up w/Jaime to return for private showings and possible riding at a later date...more one on one which is probably a better venue to show the horses anyway...less commotion and anxiety. It won't be the full scale we orginally planned but completely do-able and the attendees will not neccessarily know the difference. I had hoped we could get the ponies "show" polished and perfect but they're pretty darn cute on their own so we'll make the most of it. We've still got quite a crew lined up to come out so I think we'll just make the most of it....the key is to be flexible! I'm still planning to bring my best grill chef and some eats so it should still feel festive and fun At this point we can't pull flyers or stop folks from coming who've seen it on Facebook, Craigs List, etc...so let's have ourselves an event (on a smaller scale)....which actually takes less work on my part ... so great!!

First of all I'd like to say THANK YOU to all of the Volunteers who came this weekend to help groom the horses on Saturday and to be on hand to help out today... About 10:30 I think we were all a little anxious about whether or not anyone would actually show up and then we opened the gates and at 11:00 on the dot...three cars pulled in with 3 groups of people with lists in hand ready to meet the SAFE horses ;D It's a tough event to plan when you have no idea what to expect (we way-over-planned for food! ) but I think the event went very well. I think I counted nearly 30 people who attended throughout the day!! It's no surprise that Cedar was on just about everyone's list...of course!! Sinatra had his own fan who came out specifically to meet him and stayed around nearly all day... We had several folks who came out to meet the horses...just cuz!! ...and that's ok too. In the past we haven't given many opportunities for the public to just come out and meet them. We're learning that pretty much each horse has a little fan base out there. I had suspected as much but it's good to meet them in person! We tried to encourage folks to make an appointment to come back and get a one-on-one with the horse of their choice later so it's hard to say at this point if we got any potential adopters out of it but I think it was certainly a successful event... Thanks again to all who came out to help....and a little shout out to those of you who *lurk* but do not post...we now know you're out there and watching...so THANK YOU for continuing to support SAFE horses on your own by telling others about them.
