Willow and Annie are back at my place. They enjoyed a couple of hours of turnout on the big pasture (which they played HARD together!) and then I brought Willow out and showed her to a potential adopter. I didn't think that Willow would be ready for a ride, first day in a new place, never having been in my arena, but we were able to take her out, cross-tie her, saddle her up, lunge her, and both the mom and her daughter that came to see her rode her as well. She did SO well, I am so impressed with this mare and the job our trainer did with her. She wasn't spooky at all, and was listening and willing even when she didn't understand exactly what they wanted her to do. This is a NICE, nice mare!

I can't tell you how badly I wish I had: 1) more time, 2) more money!, and 3) another stall. I would take Willow home with me in a nano second. She is just gorgous and would look so pretty next to Mercedes! I hope she gets the best home. She sure deserves it!

Not only is that a testament to Willows personality, but also to the training she received with Andrea. We should all be so lucky to have our horses trained by such a phenomenal trainer. Andrea's ability to work with each personality, since one method rarely works with all horses, is proof of what a great horsewoman she is.

She is a phenomenal horse woman, and Raina and I have benefited so much from working with her. She just knows exactly how to convey what is needed at the exact time and it all just makes sense and easy to comprehend. I just love that...its like she's sitting there with you on the horse when you are riding...how many trainers out there can really teach like that, AND in a way that is gentle and non-aggressive. I just love working with her.

What a beauty Willow is. I see the family resemblance with her and our Emma girl in some of the face shots. That refined face, soft eyes and long eyelashes... and that splash of pink on the snoozh. Willow is so graceful and elegant.

When it rains it pours....
We had a couple applications for Willow right when she came home from training. One was too green for her and the other didn't pass the site check. After that, nothing....
And now, all of a sudden, three applications, and three appointments to see her in the next few days! Cross your fingers that Willow has found a home! Honestly I am so surprised she is still here, she is just so beautiful!

What great news! Any possibility of a dressage future for her? She looked amazing all polo wrapped up and she is a pretty mover when she balances correctly.

I have been checking every day to see if there are any updates to share about prospective adopters for Willow. Has everyone been out to see her? I can't wait for her to find the home she deserves!

She's had a few people out to see her recently, one still interested and another application just in. Nothing solid yet, though!

I had the pleasure of working with Willow this weekend. What an incredible mare! She has a heart of gold and is so smart. She is going to make someone an amazing horse. I really hope she finds her person soon. She is quite the cookie monster too!

It's so great that both Hope and Willow have adoptions in the works! I'm envious of both new homes, as I would have loved to have either one of them. They are getting some incredible horses! Hopefully both new homes will keep us posted with lots of pictures and updates on their riding progress!

Willow's adoption fell through to no fault of her own. The adopters were wonderful people and passed all adoption criteria, but were beginners and decided that the financial investment to put Willow in full board/training while they continued lessons for the next 6-12 months was going to be too much as they are also caring for an older horse on their property.
