Willow is being made provisionally available for adoption.
The provisions are that the adopter must sign a separate contract with King County as they are evidence in an open case. For details of this contract, please PM me.
The provisions have been removed and we are free to adopt the horses out with no additional restrictions.
Adoption Fee: $500

These brought tears to my eyes. Look at Willow fussing over her. I remain to this day (and always will be) glad that Lily did get to know what a full belly and a loving hand felt like.

What a precious beautiful baby Lily was. Thank goodness SAFE was there for her and the others, as has already been said. Thankfully she did see the loving and compassionate side of human nature in her short life. It does bring tears to ones eyes to see these photos.

The picture of Willow giving the evil eye to something or someone is touching. Trying to protect her innocent baby.

Yes, she was apparantly very protective of her baby (her first and only), and the ear pinning was at another horse. I was told Willow proudly brought her baby up to humans to be admired, she was a very good mommy.

I went out to see Willow today so I could hold her while Daphne worked some of her trimming magic. She is stunning!
For any of you that have a thing for gorgeous wrapped up in buckskin with a peppering of sweet. This girl is for you.
She is svelte - no more baby belly - in fact - you would be hard pressed to see that she ever had a baby. Her face is so pretty and she is SO CURIOUS about you. This is not the Willow I remember. The last time I saw Willow - she really was more interested in eating and evading than anything else (and who could blame her) but not now - she is so engaged - licking my hands, snuffling my coat and my face, sniffing Daphne constantly....such a sweet sweet girl.
She is flashy and ready for someone to make her their own. She is craving attention - so - if you haven't seen Willow lately - then you haven't seen Willow!

Is there an updated photo of Willow? She's been on my mind this week. I'm so excited to learn about her progress in training.

We haven't moved her. Cedar's adoption falling through put an unexpected kink in our plans. I will probably move her this weekend though.

That mare needs to be shown! She is so stunning. I hope whoever ends up with her puts time into training and takes her to the height of her potential. She's very special!

Speaking of training, I hauled her and Annie up to Black Raven Stables in Arlington where my trainer will be working with both of them doing some basic dressage training. Stay tuned for updates!

Willow is doing tremendously well up at Black Raven. The trainer LOVES her and is extremely happy with her progress so far. Willow is completely unlike Annie in that she is very laid back and mellow about new things, very sweet and willing to learn. She has taken everything in stride and as of last Saturday had been taught to lunge, wear saddle and bridle, and had been walked around with a rider leaning over her, all to which was no big deal for her. The only thing that was a little traumatic for her was getting a bath - I doubt she has ever been sprayed with water before and found that to be very scary, but both girls did get full baths at the end of the session. She's started lunging in loose side reins as well to get her used to the idea of contact on her mouth. But Andrea is really impressed with her sweetness and how quickly she is coming along. She also thinks that she has really nice movement for dressage, if whoever adopts her ends up wanting to go that way with her (that is, once she gets her head out of the clouds in that Saddlebred way which she likes to do when she gets excited). All in all, she's doing great!

Willow is doing fantastic at the trainers! She is now walking and trotting on the lunge line and will probably be trotting off the lunge line tomorrow. She's incredibly brave and no-nonsense about it all, not scared or reactive and really tries hard. She doesn't pick up new concepts as easily as Annie (the overachiever), but she's so sweet and easy. The only issue she had was a few times she panicked when there was contact with her mouth and threw her head up and threatened to rear - so Andrea took some time and slowed down with her to work through that (after making sure there wasn't a dental reason for the behavior). She did some ground driving and once she was reliably doing walk/trot/halt transitions and not reacting to the bit contact they went back to the riding part, and she's doing so well on the lunge line she's ready to graduate to the big arena. What a girl!
