It's time to start working on the Tack Sale!!!! We need someone to coordinate this event...........who'd like to take this one on? We'll also need folks to help organize, clean, tag and work the sale. There's no date set just yet but I'm hoping that the coordinator and volunteers can set that up and make an announcement soon. ...so clean out your tack rooms everyone! We can still use more item donations!

I would love to help out...wish I could lead the charge - next year!!!! I also picked up 5 Millenium fleece pads at the last Auction just for this event!!! Whoever takes on the leadership role, I'm yours to command.

I probably won't be able to make it to the tack sale. But if any saddle racks that you can bolt into the wall show up please grab them for me!

The sale will be in the arena at Jaime's farm. Right now, I have a box of bridles at home that need to be cleaned and a couple girths. Julie has requested that the tack being stored in her hayloft be removed so it looks like on March 7th Jet will be coming up to get a storage unit and move the tack at Julies into the storage unit.
There are two western saddles and a dressage saddle as well as saddle pads, bridles, bits, etc. that will be removed from Julies. All of that tack will need to be cleaned and checked for usability. We will need to have voluntees sign up to help clean the leather goods. As it stands right now, we need people to:
1. Organize/clean/price tack 2. work at the sale (cashiering, roving monitors, etc) 3. Advertise (hang fliers, etc.) 4. Find donations of USABLE tack (no junk or broken pieces, please)
If you have ideas or want to help out, post on this thread

I would be delighted to help clean tack (if I can pick up on my next trip up there or if someone wants to meet me with it) - when is the sale? If I am available I will help out at it. I can also hang flyers.
Also, I have a brand new western saddle with breast collar that I will put up for sale here or we can raffle at the art show.

Sign me up to help on the 7th. Just let me know when and where we need to meet up to get the stuff where it needs to go.

Cool. I don't know what time Jet will be up there, but she will probably need help at Julies and again at the storage unit, wherever that may be. When Jet gets back from vacay she will let us know the times.
Meanwhile, I know Jaime has some tack at her place that will need a cleaning; I will be out there on Saturday to see if we can put some of it together.
Does anyone know when the Snohomish County 4-H tack sale is???

Hey guys- I would strongly recommend changing the date. That's the weekend of the HUGE tack sale in Monroe that's attended from people from all over this state. That tack sale is on Sunday, so it's not like you can just get some of the flow of shoppers. You will have much more luck with another date since you can't come even close to competing with this one. Just my two cents, but I know you guys would have more luck on any different day!

Oh, the 7th is the date we need to have some tack moved by, not the date of the actual sale. I think we should have it a month or more after the 4H sale. We don't have a date set yet, want to make sure its a mutually agreeable date for all that want to help.

So, i'll already be at Julie's on March 7th--what time do you think that everyone will be there? I can definitely help out.
I also have a very large garage, with a third bay that isn't being used at this point in time, so if SAFE would like to save the money on the storage unit, we can always move the tack to my place. I delivered it Julie's originally, so i have a pretty good idea of how much stuff it is. I am in snohomish, so not terribly far...

THAT is a fantastic offer jbirashk! Thank you I'm going to PM you to work out some details! THANKS!!!! ALSO....to anyone else who has tack to donate, please let me know so we can arrange for it all to end up at the Tack Sale...and I TOTALLY agree that we're wise not to compete with the 4H show in Monroe!!! I'm still sorting out my jet-lag but I'll set up some times and so forth mid week.
