No white markings. Left fore hoof dark. Right fore hoof dark. Left hind hoof dark. Right hind hoof dark. Blood typed and parentage verified. Foaled July 6 1996 Her breeder was Jean and her last recorded owner on 10-February-01 was Nancy Bernritter. Startup, WA. Her dam was Darsha and her sire was Shaikh Al Hafiza
Does that help? PS, there is a very kind person that lets me use her account. It has helped alot doing research for some of the rescues. PSS, this horse also had no recorded progeny.

Thanks Trillium. That's not Coconut then. I need to find a nice person too:-) Datasource is really addicting but WAY too expensive. I already pay AHA for the competitors card... I can't justify donating close to $200 a year to them.
When I first found out about the Elledge horses I printed ALL of the documents out to go compare markings. Unfortunately, I read Khramer's wrong anyway and I didn't figure out that he was the guy "with the duck shaped blaze" until later.
Thank you for looking that up!

fanaberia: Re Summer (Impromptu DHF) according to ASHA records, she was foaled at Deerhaven Farm in VA 4/29/1987, then changed hands as follows:
Nancy Tardiff, Monroe, WA 4/1/1989 - 11/25/1994 Jennifer Monroe, Monroe, WA 11/25/1994 - 11/5/1995 Pat Hallstrom 11/5/1995 - 11/15/1999 Jean Elledge 11/15/1999
Summer has three registered Saddlebred foals:
120074 Stonewall Sonnet, foaled 3/331/1991 122513 Paprika's Mark, foaled 4/13/1992 128769 Promptu's Light and Lovely, foaled 4/16/1996
She has no record with the American Saddlebred Horse Association of ever being shown.

Wow...thank you everyone for trying to help. The last few days have been a roller coaster for me in regards to Coconut and her history. I hesitate to get too excited because I've been disappointed so many times when I think I've found a lead. But I have to tell you that I am very touched that you, fanaberia & trillium, (and others too) have tried to help and obviously understand what it would mean to me to finally know. I feel just a little heart broken that this turns out to be the wrong road to look for the information I so deeply want but I'm still hoping that something will finally lead me there. THANK YOU so much. ps: Coconut was watching me work with the colt today and she gave me that "what about me?" pout/look & I think we both felt the connection, even across two paddocks, that we belong to each other.

Jet - one of the people I talked to that used to work out at Jean's remembered Coconut well (she's the one that confirmed the story of her being abandoned by the owner/boarder and then Jean took her to auction to try and get rid of her but ended up bringing her back home). It's possible she might remember the name of the person who owned her, I could ask her? Or at least ask her if she remembered ever meeting this person (who could then at least confirm the story for you?).

Thank you trailsnail. Summer is really a pretty mare, I could see her being a show horse at one point.
Jet- Somewhere, there is an answer. I've had several mystery horses that found their identities. Sometimes it was fast, sometimes it took years. But somewhere there is someone that knows her story. I really have hope for you and your Coconut.

Barbara - that person also remembers Khramer/Wahjii well, she could probably give you some info, maybe even has some pictures (she provided me with many of the photos of the horses from Jean's property).

Trillium, I was 9 when I started working there, just riding and feeding (crappy food, mind you), I am 23 now.
I know one of Shari's fillies that died while I was there. She was the one who went into anaphalactic shock from jean's injection. Her call name was Bahira but I don't know what her registered name was. And I am positive this isn't the mare everyone knows as Bahira. I know this filly is deceased because I was there. It was very sad. She reused names so many times it's confusing...

And Darsha.. I remember that mare as well. She was lovely tempered.
And I don't know why it says Jean got Summer in 1999, because that's not true. I was there before 1999 and Summer was there. Maybe Jean didn't own her, but she was there. I've got pictures of her and they are all dated before 1999. I moved to Utah in 2001 and I hadn't been up there in at least three years and she still had her. She got her during or when I was working there.
And Summer, we were going to take her to a Schooling show but she was absolutely terrified of being trailored. She was a wonderful riding horse though.

Summer is a good girl about the trailer now. It's not her favorite thing but she'll get in with a little encouragement.

ravenshadowflight: The dates for the chain of ownership for Summer are from the American Saddlebred Horse Assoc. database, and reflect the dates that ownership was actually transferred with the Association. Summer could have very well been in Elledge's possession for some time before the transfer was actually recorded. Perhaps Pat Hallstrom boarded Summer with Jean prior to her taking actual ownership of Summer. Was Summer at Jean's in '96 when she foaled a palomino filly? Poor mare. She was fairly young when she had the misfortune to cross paths with Jean Elledge. It is amazing to me that she survived all those years of neglect. She is definitely a survivor!

Wow. So no recorded ownership in Bellingham in or around 1989 or 1990? The gal I worked for bought her from Bentwood and hauled her (or had her shipped up) from Texas. I think it said she was owned by Lloyd Lonzo in 1990. I think his address was listed as Ellensberg. Then she was transferred to Jean in 99. She has 5 registered foals. The last two would of been while in Jeans ownership. LABATAA AHR*478141 10 Jun 1991 Mare Grey BATAA AL BADI AHR*510099 25 May 1994 Gelding Grey MON SHARAF HAFIZ AHR*564011 15 Aug 1997 Mare Chestnut YAKQUT AL AKMAR AHR*603454 14 May 2001 Gelding Bay BINT MAGIDAAN AHR*616258 04 Apr 2003 Stallion Chestnut There was a Bint Magidaan that ended up on Craigslist in the summer of '06 that some of us thought about trying to rescue. The woman who had him had written in her Craigslist ad that she'd rescued him but could no longer keep him. I don't remember exactly what happened to him...she kept dropping his price until he sold adn I remember some of us were really worried that a killer buyer would get him. He was gelded by then, but that's all I remember. There was another Egyptian Arabian that was related to Bint that was bought by someone who was posting here briefly. Does anyone have a better memory about the Bint thread than me? I can't find it, I think it went into archives. It's such a coincidence that he was discussed here for a while, I'm intrigued. I think someone posted something about Bint in one of the Elledge threads, but I can't find that either. I sure hope he ended up in a good situation.
