Oh, I'm so sad. Goodbye, Sunny. Thank you for taking care of him.

Thank you Bonnie for being the one to be there for Sunny in his time of need.

I am so sorry to hear of Sunny's passing. He was certainly full of life even at may have been his worst when I transported him from Snohomish to WinterLakesFarm months ago (seems like yesterday).
Run free my sweet old man. You were a gem!

RIP gallant boy, Bonnie and Slew my heart goes out to you. He was so lucky to have stolen yours.
You know my old girl Fil (24) has been in my life since she was 5. Every once in awhile you read about someone who is living in their car in order to support their old horse, that would be me if times got bad. I couldn't imagine ever leaving her fate up to someone else.
I am so very lucky to have her in my life and it is so sad to see horses like Sunny whose previous owners never saw the benefits of having an old life long friend around.

What a noble ending. Thank you, Bonnie, for being his angel, giving him dignity in his remaining days & for treating him with the respect he so richly deserves. He's clearly brought many lessons and joy to you and now the rest of us.

Bonnie, I am so sorry to hear about Sunny. Thank you so much for being there with him and letting him go when the time was right. He knew he was safe and loved, even though he was with new people in his life. That says a lot about what a warm and wonderful person you are and I am sure yesterday was a very difficult day for you. RIP Sunny...run free without pain.

Bonnie-
I am so sorry but I am also very happy his last days were with you. I too wish people would think twice before re-homing their old broke down horses. Too few end up as Sunny did with someone who truly cared for him making the decision to let them go with dignity and to end their days knowing they were cared for. I am very happy that he ended up with you and not where he was 6 months ago.
Every time I read an ad on Craigslist for some old horse for "re-homing" I cringe. I wish my wallet was bottomless and I would take them all in and wish a certain kind of hell on the people who callously discard the oldsters who served them well.
Thank you Bonnie.
Godspeed old man.
