Budget, I'm thinking for the big posters........I could still use the school plotters. We would probably want to get them laminated or something - but it is only $20 for a 42x60 print. They are pretty darn nice, they are the fancy Epson whatevers with archival ink. Whatever we make should be durable enough to last through at least a "season" of events.
I had been looking into brochure printing and the best deal was U-printing, and they were going to offer a discount. The samples they sent me are really nice.
Cards....well I think that Cafe Press actually is the best deal for notecards because they pre-box them for you in sets of 10. Overnightprints.com is cheaper, but we would have to package the sets of cards ourselves. Not a huge problem since I actually enjoy things like that......
As for images, I have like 8,000,000, and I know Monica has been writing a lot with her information binder. There is also tons on the website.
I basically can use the school print shops all summer, and I have a nice wide-format inkjet at home. If we do small runs of 100-200 of anything, it might be best just for me to print it either on the laser at school, or at home.

Leah, it sounds like you have some great ideas and can handle the design and production at school. Let me know if you need any additional help!

OK. So I have this date written in my planner and told the hubby I'll be gone all day. So I can get there early and be there all day. A friend might be bringing his daughter by so I would want to walk around for awhile. But otherwise, I will do what ever is needed!

Actually, we have a nice trifold brochure that just needs to be updated a bit, and I can take care of doing that. If you guys could focus on a display for the booth, that would be excellent. There is a ton of content that can be picked up from the website. Budget for card printing?? Leah, can you PM me with prices and we can figure out what we can afford. Re: volumes, we want to produce enough printed material so that we have it available at the show as well, but not too much so that we end up with out of date materials. So probably in the 200-500 piece range? In the past I have used Vistaprint for color, Staples for B&W, and my own inkjet printer for everything else... Did we determine if SAFE would be allowed to sell anything? I notice the website mentions that Celebrate the Horse is a fundraising event for People Helping Horses.... Even if selling were not permitted, I would imagine donations could be accepted, right?

Nothing in the contract says we can't sell stuff. Technically we are a vendor for this event.
Whether or not we have something to sell is another story altogether....
I've ordered brochures and magnets to give away.
Leah, how are things going with the displays? What form factor are you thinking of? I ordered a table for us, so we could do standup boards, but it might be nicer (or easier) to have the boards hung from the back wall of the tent so folks can stand and "browse".
Could I get a recap of who is going to be there on which day and time? Also let me know if you have a SAFE shirt or not.

I can help out either day or both, for total of eight to ten hours. I would also like to see Monica ride the horse whose breed name I can't pronounce, Akhal Teke. I don't have SAFE t-shirts or caps, would be pleased to purchase one there.

I can be there both days, if needed!
I'm planning on 2 posters, 24x36 each. We could do 3 smaller ones instead, if you think that would be better? I haven't designed them yet, but I was actually hoping to have them printed this Wednesday, so if you have design/content ideas, let me know ASAP. They will cost ~ $30 total to print and laminate. Bonnie: what PMS color is the SAFE purple?
What do you guys think about having some greeting card sets and some photo prints for sale? For now I can make them at home instead of sending out somewhere. I'm not sure how many to make/bring...let me know what you guys think. We can mark up the cards/prints appropriately and then I can be paid back as they sell.
I don't have a SAFE shirt!

$30 for the posters is fine. Great, actually!! As far as content, before and after photos have the most impact on people. I'd also include some messages about how people can help (ie Adopt, Foster, Volunteer, Donate), and use the text that is on that section of the website. Maybe a "feature" on the Carnation horses too. And maybe something that illustrates what we do for our horses (vet care, farrier care, training, etc.) Let me know if you need me to provide copy or photos.
SAFE purple is PMS 7439 C.
thank you!!

Would it be feasible to sell note cards and SAFE stuff at the concession stand for the Benefit show?
Would someone pick up a set of note cards for me? I will be in NV at that time ( I would rather be at this! )
