He look so incredibly happy. Just goofing off, rolling around, curious about his new home. What a great guy. He looks like a pretty mover in the pictures. I just love this guy - there is something special about him.

Rusty will not last long in foster care he's just so great!!!! He's only been at my place for a few days now. He's just so funny, meeting the 4 mares that live at my neighbors place behind me.. What a clown. Acted like a guy at his junior prom... What a goof ball!!! I truely believe that helping gods fellow creatures is what is expected of us.

He better not go back to the woman who had him before we did. He is far too cool to be left alone in a pasture somewhere!

Hey all, I have a favor to ask. As the previous owner has not been found guilty of any wrongdoing, let's keep our comments on the situation to ourselves. Let's remember that this bulletin board can be read by anyone. Let's focus on the horses and getting them into the wonderful new homes that they deserve. Thanks.

Also, as I alluded to, this is almost over. The horses will be signed over this week.
I also have more information on Rusty, as provided by the owner. He is only 5 years old, is registered (but no papers), and has had professional training. He is great on trails and loves to go through water. He is very sweet and his only fault is he will sometimes buck if the cinch is too tight, he likes it loose.

I am pretty sure it is possible to get APHA replacement papers, like AQHA, if you can find out his registered name. I know he's a gelding, but APHA has a lot of great programs like an open show awards point program that you can participate in.

Yay for Rusty and Pal. They deserve the best. Cat, how difficult would it be to track down Rusty's registered name? Just curious.

I'm so happy for them! What a great ending to the story. AND the beginning of a great new one, I hope.

It's pretty hard to track down a registered name if you don't have it since unraced horses aren't tattooed. But if we have located a previous owner, they should know it. It also might be possible to force Bev to surrender that information since it substantially affects the horse's value and future prospects.
It certainly would be WAY cool to see a SAFE rescue showing at the breed shows...someone just posted on my blog yesterday who still thinks any rescue/auction horse is going to "have something wrong with it." That misconception is still out there. It'd be great to have a classy, show quality horse like Rusty doing P.R. for rescue horses everywhere!

I have been in contact with the previous owners. Rusty is registered and they were supposed to get papers mailed to them but have not gotten them. They are willing to give us those papers if they ever receive them and have offered papers on some of the other horses, which is generous considering the circumstances. If it seems important to Rusty's adopter to have them we will try to see if we can help get them.

As horse owners we need to focus on the positive for these loving creatures!!! negitive energy is wasted energy. Care for them more tenderly, and find others who need our help. That is our task at hand now. Lets move on... Oh Rusty is doing great, he still considers himself a ladies man. He tries so hard, to be charming and in the end he just looks like a goof balls still, give him an "A" for effort tho....

He had two of my girls, Belle and Tostada, very beta mares, to himself at Chelsea's so he thinks he is King of the Herd now. I used to have to stand out there at feeding time as he would herd them around and try to eat their grain (which he thought was tastier than his own grain, apparently he thinks Strongid C is like caramel topping or something...LOL).
