Rest in Peace, dear Crafty. You will be missed deeply and dearly. But as I read the account of your last day, it strikes me as quite beautiful....surrounded by people who loved you and love your mom...you even gave your mom the "sign" she was looking for...that kindness and clarity will be a great comfort to her as she faces her life without you...you will live on in the memories of everyone that you taught to ride and to show, and others whose lives you have touched. You're a good boy, a good horse. Run free in your shiny, healthy body!

Im so sorry to hear of your loss. Im trying to type and I cant see much because I am crying so hard because just two months ago I had to put down my best friend in the world. It came as a shock to me, I guess I thought that he would live forever after all we had 25 wonderful years together and about a million miles under our belts. But it was his time and Im thankful that I was there. Its so much harder on the one left behind, I still out out to the barn and touch his saddle and cry. The one thing (other than family and my husband) to get me through the hard days has been my husbands horse. I never spent much time with him as he is a big guy and a bit on the spooky side. Since Music's passing I have been riding and just spending time with Sam and its really helped heal my heart, and we have bonded more that i ever thought we would. There is a poem on here titled "May I go" and it said everything that I felt. I am going to get the poem and a good picture of us on the beach and have it framed. My deepest condolenses go out to you at this time. Hang in there each day will get a bit better

Aw, Jaime...I'm so very sorry. I was really pulling for him to rebound for a bit longer. Your recounting of his last day is so sweet and I feel like I knew Crafty too in what you've written about him. I feel for your loss, I can't imagine how tough it must have been and I know how hard you cried. I'm thinking about you...please take it easy on yourself this weekend. I know when I had to put down a couple of my pets I found great solice in spending time with the other pets in my house...spend some time with your crew because I find that's the best tonic for a grieving heart. How is Vanna today? Sounds like she spent a lot of time with him...

I just want to say thank you to the wonderful SAFE BoD that sent me the beautiful flowers! They are gorgeous and smell beautiful. They are green and lush and remind me of the type of place I hope Crafty is running free in today.
The florist, when she brought them, said "I'm so sorry about your horse." That alone almost made me cry, let alone the beautiful flowers!
You guys are wonderful....*sniff*

Crafty was a very special horse. The kind that would make you smile when you looked at him and instantly feel better about everything when he would flap his lips and let you kiss his nose. In the short time I knew him, he taught me so much about my ability as a rider and was always kind but fun and I will miss him so much. I loved him like he was my own.

Anyone that has ever loved a horse dreads this day. It is the price we must pay for the great joy they bring us the other days of our life. My heart truly does go out to you. He looks like a spectacular individual. I can certainly see why you will miss him.

I am so, so sorry to hear that you have lost a faithful, beloved friend of 15 years. It sounds like Crafty was loved and adored by everyone who met him. He touched many hearts. He was a wonderful ambassador for the Thoroughbred breed - handsome, kind, sensible and intelligent.
We share your pain and heartbreak while you grieve.
