Well good news...Pockets stopped loosing weight and appears to have actually started to gain some. He has become very spunky and shows off for the girls. He is still on the skinny side but as long as he keeps gaining i am not nearly as worried. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers, I know that helped him alot.

Well i have some very sad news. Pockets has been put to ease. He was loosing weight rapidly although he was eating and he was suffering. We had the vet out on friday because he had aspyxiated and she gave him some bute and tubed him so he could be put down properly today. Thank you to the very sympathetic and wonderful Dr. Brandi Holoan at Pilchuck for making his last days comfortable. And thank you to Pockets for bringng o much joy into my household and giving my family the love and yearning to be around horses again. He was the best pony ever and thank you to all at safe who made it possible for him to have such a long life (1973) We will always remember Mr. Pockets and that wonderful happy, knowledgable face he had. ...we miss you already pockets more than words can say and hope you are happy and comfortable in your new life.
love always...the Rock Family.

I'm so sorry to hear this, but I am grateful to you for giving Pockets a peaceful and dignified end. Thank you for taking him in and caring for him so well...I wish he could have been with you longer, but at least he had the time that he had.
Take care of yourselves during this sad time, ok?

I am so sad you have lost little Pockets. Thank you so much for caring for him so well in his last days. It is never easy to make the decision to let them go- it speaks highly of you and your family that you loved him enough to give him a dignified loving death.

Beth, I am so sorry for your loss but also proud of you for being strong enough to recognize his time had come before he got to a point when he was down or suffering. That takes a lot of strength and bravery. Pockets was very blessed to have had you in his last few months. I honestly did not think we would ever be able to find a home for so an old, old, pony, and am so glad that he was able to be pampered and adored in his last few monthsl.

So sorry to hear this . Bless you for being a good steward for him, and taking him into your family for the period of time he had with you - you are special people to take pity on an old pony. (((cyber hug)))
