Welcome everyone!!! We're thrilled you're here and we look forward to hearing all about your horses. Also, let everyone else here know when you think there is a horse in need...we try to help as many as we can, even if it's just listing them here to get them more profile with the public. Vickzen...how is Julia doing? Has she settled in yet? I can't wait to meet her! Jennywho...what FANTASTIC news about Tanner!!! I am so happy for you, I know how much work you've put into getting him to this point. Thank you so much for taking him in, I'm sure one day he will repay you in spades. ;D

Thats awesome new HC! Painters Lady really filled out at PECs! Lorraine was at my barn for a few days, I was a bit stumped because she was SO thin that I emailed Dean and asked her advice and best course of action. As previous owners said she foundered over the winter. Dean emailed me back and said " Bring her on down here, well fix her up" so that is what i did. And Im very grateful she is in good hands... When I saw Lorraine she looked good! And my, she is a piggy ;D. Her and one of the Cowgirl Spirits rescues, Salsa kept trying to see if we had any treats to give them. Until then I never realized how BIG Lorraine was! She is one tall girl! Thanks, I am excited I got Lady! She really has put on weight and looks better !

I'll try to snap some pics of Petey next time I go to EMD if he's still there. He's a long, tall, lanky thing so our trainer was planning to turn him out for awhile and let him grow up. He's a really cool horse. When we first bought him he wasn't sure about people, but now he's a big puppy dog. He LOVES being a racehorse (even though he's never even worked yet.) He probably won't start until late fall at the earliest, but I'll make sure to keep everyone posted.
Thanks for the encouragement regarding Tanner, I need all the help I can get. I will try to get some pics of him sporting his new halter soon.

If PEC has time, I would love to see how Lorraine looks now. She seems to be such a nice mare. Rides well, etc.
I think I missed this thread when I registered a long time ago, so I'm Cathy, I adopted Sunline and have two old TB mares, age 26 and 27. I used to train professionally but now I just do the horse stuff part time and legal stuff full time. The legal stuff makes more money but I really miss just being in the barn all day!

Hey Y'all! Im Shay...the owner of a BIG Holstiener Gelding [Chance], a 32" minature stallion [Xbe], 6 dogs [moose, duke, radar, zoie, boomer and last but not least Manson], also my baby kitty Sunflower, Guinea Pig [Doodle], 5 fish, and last but never least...soon to be new care leaser of Christy's beautiful appy mare Seirra. :] so if you couldnt guess im a HUGE lover of animals, and at 14 i have found my meaning of life with these guys...they are my life and i love all of them to death and past. I have been told so many times that i am going to grow up and be a vet/horse trainer...and im working hard to try to fulfill that dream. :] I am semi-new to the boards here at SAFE...and through them i have found homes for two horses that deserve the wonderful homes they have gotten. THANK YOU SAFE! i wish everyone happy holidays and blessings for the years to come. :] here are some pictures of a few of my goofy animals. ^^Chance, Myself, and my dad ^^My dog Moose and Myself. ^^My cat Sunflower and Myself (excuse my part of the picture.lol) ^^Chance and his pretty new blanky. ^^Doodle..had him since i was 9...he's getting old and the vet says hes happy but due to his age...he doesnt have much time left. :/ So as of now...those are the only pics of my animals i have..but i just got my new camera..so...i believe there will be more...that is of course if requested. happy holidays and blessings for a new year. thanks. -shay

Shay - you will have to send pics once you get Sierra... she is such a fun horse! you will like her and I am so glad she is finding a good place to go I didn't see this thread before either and I'm pretty new here but have been a little post happy.. lol I have been to several "rescue forums" but this is by far the nicest group of people AND the most organized that I have found. I too have been rescueing, re-training and re-hab'ing rescue horses out of my own time and wallet for many years and it's very nice to see such a large group of people doing the same. I actually found this group by accident when finding a dreamhorse ad for a sweet little pony on here I hope (adoption pending) to bring home soon! ;D Thanks to all of you who do what you do and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Seems like no one has signed in to this thread for awhile...maybe I can get the ball rolling again by saying hello. I'm Sandy, used to frequent the CBER bb regularly, have been aware of this rescue for awhile but didn't realize there was a bb...now you'll never get rid of me... I have two old CBER geldings and a recently rescued shetland who was foundered AND emaciated--neat trick!--anyway, I didn't know I liked ponies so much, in spite of my nickname. I guess he's made an honest board member out of me. I also used to have a third old CBER gelding, Chance, who was a angel of a horse and worth his weight in gold, but he coliced in the spring. I get to spend my days trimming and shoeing horses, and consider myself very lucky to do so. For as long as the ain't-as-young-as-it-used-to-be body holds out, anyway.
