I didn't even see this thread when I joined yesterday. Hello everyone. I'm Ali and I live in Southern CA. I'm owned by 2 BLM Mustangs. Owen who is 3 & Kenya who is a yearling. I'm very happy to see such a nice group of people who are dedicated to helping horses in need. ;D Modified to add: Jennywho that is awesome news! You have done an outstanding job with Mr. Tanner. I'd love to see some updated photos!

Hi all, I have been here for a few months already. My name is Laurie, AKA LorsaDoon on the CBER board, for those of you that are on both boards.
I have two rescues, Dreamaker (lot name Sheba) and Teddie (lot name Pilgrim).
I live in Oregon City and have had horses for 45 years. ACK...that makes me sound old. I have eight horses altogether. Mostly Arabians. And NO, they are not that wild and crazy like alot of people think. It's all in the breeding, just like anything else.

Welcome to all the newcomers, we are glad to have you! Trillum, I was the one who rode and assessed Sheba at the lot. Didn't know she wasn't broke! I really liked her, glad you got her.

Hello Everybody!
My name is Dawn and I live in Harrisburg, Oregon. I don't have any horse right now. I have 2 girls, 3 and 9, and a 7 month old blue heeler.
It is great to find a wonderful horse rescue to support!

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on many boards for several months. Decided it was time to join. I do rescues on my own, out of my own pocket and time. I currently have 8 here. I just placed two and with in a day had those spaces full. Most of mine I've saved on the way to auction or the slaughter yard. I have one 35+ year old appy cross gelding, 1 reg. half arab gelding, 1 arab mare, 1 QH mare, 1 arab colt, 1 mustang stud, 1 mustang mare, 1 1/2 arab 1/2 shetland pony filly. The QH and the mustang stud are my newest additions. I am so thankfull that there are so many people out there who help all these poor animals who mostly just need time and good care. Keep up the good work!

Welcome Rachelle - (this is like our own support group, Rescuer's Anonymous ;D) I am excited to see you here. I love the work you are doing - it really is up to each individual to help how they can - and as you have proven to those horses, one person can make a huge difference!

Thank you for the nice welcome. My family thinks I'm crazy. My sister keeps telling me I can't save them all (sad but true), I just look at her and say 'yep, but there's no reason I can't save that one'.
I have limited myself to 8 only. Once one is healthy enough and trained enough, I find a good home for them, usually the 4-H kids are more than willing to take on a rescued horse. They love the idea of taking an unwanted horse and loving it for the rest of it's life. And I have help, my kids (ages 7 & 15) help alot and so does my husband when he isn't at work. He drives the trailer to go pick them up.
One at a time.... Unfortunately there's so many more that we (as in everybody who does rescues) don't manage to save...
