We had quite a good training session today! Lady was SUCH a GOOD girl!!!!
I started lunging her....I couldnt believe how good she was. All of a sudden it was like she had been lunged her whole life. She walked and trotted in both directions with NO bucking, rearing, spooking, taking off, or ANYTHING of that sort. I even got her to canter a few steps (little too wet to do anymore) and she didnt do anything bad there either. It really shows how fast she learns and how much she wants to please.
After that I saddled her up with the aussie saddle. No issues there. She moved one small step when I first cinched it, but after that, no issues. I went down to lunge her with with saddle on. I was really expecting her to flip out. But guess what.... She walked and trotted easily in both directions, not even offering to buck, take off, or rear at all. Very relaxed, almost lazy about it. I was really amazed.
Then it started pouring down rain so I took her up to the barn and stood under the dry part until it stopped (she had the saddle on the whole time, and was not once bothered by it).
I decided, since she had been so good, I would see how she would do with ground-driving. This was a big step for both me and her. She has only been ground-driven twice before, both in enclosed, smaller areas. We started with me just walking behind her and my dad leading her. Then I clipped the ropes up and put them thru the saddle and walked behind her with my dad leading her. After a few minutes my dad walked away and it was just me and her. She was VERY good. No spooking, rearing, bucking, taking off, etc. Her biggest fear right now is the fact she cant see me. She gets worried about where I am so kept trying to turn around to make sure I was still there and wasnt going to leave her. It took some convincing but she soon realized it was ok for me to be behind and not right there with her. Once that was accomplished she was terrific.
We ended on a very, very good note. I cant wait to start working with her again!

Focus looks good! The horses there look happy healthy and bright, too.
