Joey does indeed have good taste... and Prince will undoubtedly let you know when he is ready for his next adventure under saddle... glad you are enjoying him 'as is' for now.

Hi guys....another quick update for you all. His highness continues to do so well. Settling in to our little routine and enjoying himself. He loves the turnout we have and is always slow to come in......even when he knows it's dinnertime! He gallops around, (looking totally sound) rolls, visits with the neighbor horses and plays/hangs out with Joey all day. I palpated that tendon yesterday and would you believe it is still shrinking? Not yet to normal size, but boy....he is looking great. I have hope for this guy. I think he has had some hard, stressful, anxiety-producing work in the past.......judging from his reactions when I worked with him.....so, my plan is to keep him on this turnout program which seems to be doing wonders for that leg and then maybe sometime in early spring (or sooner...?) start working very slowly with him. Working on basics, you know, the natural horsemanship thing to start with the partnership.....get him to relax and understand that I am not going to pressure him or hurt him. He seemed to expect to be punished before when we had our little ride. Makes me so sad, but also makes me want to show him that humans can also be kind.... This horse is so beautiful, so sweet and wants to be around people. He deserves kindness. (Even if he poops in his dishes!...

What great news!
Sounds like he is on the right path, except for the poop in dish thing. Made me laugh. One of my guys used to do that too, so I got a hanging feed bucket.
A mare I worked with a few years back, always pooped into her 150 gallon water trough, even though she was on an acre pasture. We figured, she thought it was a toilet, but we couldn't figure out how to set it up so she could flush

Well imagining Prince backing up to buckets/feeders has just destroyed my mental picture of this elegant guy Just doesn't sound very regal at all!

This just shows, he is highly intelligent and is trying to lessen your work load. Perhaps you could hang a muck bucket in one of the corners, and bingo no more bending over and mucking.

Hello. I read that he had a really nice race record and was wondering if you knew what his registered name was.
Those geldings who pair off are the greatest. We've got two retired racers out in a field together. They really do love each other.

Hi, Toodles....I believe they thought they had found a match with his tattoo and I think his name was Gerson.....? Not my favorite name in the world, I like Prince Charmer better.
