This horse is going to need constant attention with that fly allergy. Whoever gets her will need to really commit to her care and be sure that it's something they want to take on for the long haul.

Our pony has fly allergies and it is very manageable. The War Paint product is excellent and long lasting, just be aware that your horse does look like its wearing war paint! Also, a fly sheet with a belly band helps a ton and you can get those for around $50. I do a weekly application of MTG too to help with the skin and coat condition. Good manure maintenance and possibly those fly predators will help tremendously too. This is one beautiful horse with so much potential. Let me know if there is a cost issue and I'll do what I can to help.

Hi, It sounds like someone is going to take this mare. That's great! I'm pretty well tapped out with Bella, but wanted to help if it meant saving her from slaughter. She is a cutie!

I'm a little confused about the plan for this mare, but she is about 10 minutes away from me, so if nothing else works out, I can go pay for her and have her hauled to my place at a moment's notice. I talked to the lady that is placing her; I drive by her house every day.

I wonder how her allergies to flies manifest themselves? D2M, you might want to ask this when you contact the owners so you know the kind of plan you'll need to make - e.g., is she a headshaker? Does she rub herself raw? Get hives? Has she ever been on corticosteroids for her allergies? But you might already know this, so forgive me if I overstep here...

That would be a good idea. Mariah has the same allergies and I have tried a number of things including cortizone not sure I have spelt that right they work good but only for about a week. I have heard that calm coat is excetional for this and planned on getting some for mariah. I was hoping someone locally sold it but havn't found it. I will probably have to order it on line.

Palpony If you can atleast get her that would be great she hasn't returned my email. She probably thinks I am a flake because of an email confusion
