Lexi's doing great in her training. She's not quite consistent with her canter work yet, she has a hard time maintaining it on the corners with a rider but is getting there. She's totally unfazed by anything that is going on around her and very calm and easy going. She pulled a shoe yesterday and her foot immediately began to roll inwards so it is our consensus now that she needs to just stay in front shoes. If she gets her shoe back on tomorrow she'll be heading out on the trail ride with Rhythm tomorrow.

Videos...her canter has really come along. Keeping her in the canter is sometimes still a challenge, but she picks it up nicely:

She is a nice little horse, just perfect fo a small adult. I am 5'8" and don't look *too* ridiculous on her. I think she is the perfect success story for SAFE.

I rode Lexi myself tonight. She did great! She's a lot of fun, and VERY sensitive to your seat and weight aids. She did great even with my cats deciding it was a good time to chase each other up the arena posts as we rode by. She didn't like the length of my arena where the shelters were, but her idea of spooking is more like a slow-motion leg yield away from whatever she doesn't like. Once she got a good look at it, she went by it fine. This little pony has a motor on her, and is a fun ride! She was also very good to tack up and extremely easy to bridle.

I rode Lexi again on Saturday and she was great. Such a steady little girl. There is some loose hot-tape on the outside of the arena that flaps in the breeze that she didn't like, but she doesn't spook or quickly shy away, she just side-passes right by.
While we were working Rhythm and Annie were also getting so exercise so there were two other horses in the arena with her and she was perfectly relaxed and listened to me, barely distracted at all. She is just a steady, solid girl.

Not to mention the fact that she was so steady that you cooled her out bareback!

I'd like to cross post this photo of Lexi and Daemon in the lead-line class & point out that she didn't know me or Daemon. We all met about 1 minute before the lead-line class and she let me quickly change her saddle, add a kid and lead her off. Very trusting and does what you ask....I think those are ingredients for an amazing pony for someone!!!
