Free lease with option to adopt. Martini is an OTTB who is 6 yrs old, 16.1h Dark bay gelding. He came off the track as a 3yr old with a bowed tendon. He only had 11 starts on the track and is now ready to start a new career. I have done a lot of ground work with him (lunging, dis engaging the hind quarters and ground manners) took him on a few trail rides (which he loved) and have worked out most of the bad track habits. He has had a couple dressage lessons last year however due to my back injury I have been unable to ride him this year. He is a sweet boy who really wants to please and he loves attention!! He is an easy loader, ties well and he is good with the farrier. He is in good health, UTD on worming, teeth, vaccinations and hoof care. Due to his bowed tendon he will never be able to jump but he is sound and can do flat work. He is a hard keeper but is at a great weight now. He would need an intermediate or experienced rider. I love this guy and finding a good home is the most important thing to me since I am unable to give him what he needs. A new job! Please email me if you are interested- horsewatcher1@gmail.com Thank you for looking! This is the most recent pic I have of him taken in July 09 Here is the link to his Pedigree. www.allbreedpedigree.com/maxs+lil+martini

Where are you located? I have a 10yo 16.1hh mare and I'm 'kinda' looking for a project/prospect for my husband. He's the real horse-shower-person in our family...

SAFE is going to be helping with the placement of Martini via our SAFE-Assisted Rehoming Program. His adoption fee has been set at $600 and the free lease-to-adopt option is still available. If you are interested in meeting Martini, please fill out an adoption application online at safehorses.org/adoptionapp.html or contact me at adopt@safehorses.org.

Jaime- I just sent you an email about Martini and my current "issues."
horsewatcher- I'm on it. The hubby REALLY likes the look of him. Have there been any issues with his tendon? He would be a competition horse if he became a horse here. I show hunteres and the husband shows jumpers and dressage (level 1 and 2 right now).

I believe it says in his description that he wouldn't be able to be jumped?

Yeah, I've already talked to Martini's owner. Too bad. He's a very good looking guy.

Unfortunately he would not be able to jump due to his bowed tendon when he came off the track as a 3 year old. Although it is a low bow and it has heeled well I have been told by 2 different vets that he should not jump but would be fine for flat work. He's really a sweetie and SO willing to learn. Here is a pic of his bowed tendon(right front)

A front is good though for someone who wants him as a dressage horse. I will keep my feelers out for someone who would want a very cute dressage horse. He is adorable! I'm sure that you're going to find him a home in no time. I'm very sorry that I am so retarded. I should really read more carefully...

Dear Horsewatcher, I was wondering if you have any up-to-date pictures of Martini. Well I guess my first question should of been is Martini still up for adoption? And if so awesome!! you see I filled out an adoption application for him today (2/8/10). And if there's a day where we can meet him? That would be great as well, the only days that I have open are Monday and Tuesdays. Well thank you for your time!! ~Shinning Star2010

Hi there, I didn't receive an application for Martini today, are you sure you sent it today? I did get one yesterday from an Amanda, is that you? If not, you may need to re-send it. Sorry!
