Imagine if your best friend suddenly revealed themselves as a superhero in a silver suit! Maybe once Little Miss finally got the respect she thinks she deserves, she could allow herself to be friendly....

Here's an interesting tidbit. When my farrier was out to see to my horses I had him take a look at Little Miss. He has a method of aging horses based on rib spacing - he explained it to me but I don't understand it very well - but in his experience it is pretty accurate. His opinion is that Little Miss is about 9 - maybe even a tad younger. Could be....

we have rescues that have tattoos we have recently been able to find out quite a bit about the horses that have tattoos......if there is a tattoo chances are it is registered already but you can go online submit your tattoo info and i think it is 50 dollars and you can find out all about the horse.....good luck

Hi sailor - Little Miss does have a tattoo but it is not readable. Her skin is heavily mottled right where the first letter would be that represents the year she was born so we can't even make that part out.

Just so you know, she told me she wants to be a polo pony. Janice will post pics later. I love her, she's awesome!

Here we go...though we do have some "double vision" as it was getting dark and the camera didn't like that!

She really is a sweet lil lady. I am glad you got out to ride her, she is fun isn't she? She would be a PERFECT short stirrup hunter

Little Miss is now sporting some shiny new shoes. She was quite good for the farrier - I was a proud foster mom. Dawn, the farrier, took a look at her tattoo under strong sunlight and is pretty sure it reads Z242something. That would make her 12. I hope someone out there knows how to track down pedigrees and will look the number up and see if it looks like a match.

Cat, you look very comfortable on her! With shoes on, she should be able to do a lot more - and she might just make 15.1!

Wow, she looks GREAT on Little Miss! They look like a good match, hopefully they end up together As for "clicky" joints, Lady's hind legs "click" too, but she has been that way since I got her (age 9) and it has never caused problems. She has no signs of arthritis that I can tell - I put her on a joint supp/MSM last year to see if it would help and it made no difference in her way of going or the "clicks". My knees and ankles click, and I'm 21 with no injuries to either joint, so I think some of us just click more than others I'm going to be super creaky when I'm old!
