Not exactly a glamour shot, but here he is (w/Phoenix) - I call this shot "Bonnie's Groupies" . Sinatra is so laid back compared to Phoenix, who is Bart Simpson personified. Or is that horseified?

Mike managed to grab the camera and get a couple of photos of the boys playing rough (as boys do!) a couple of weeks ago.

They are such cute boys. Sinatra is such a nice boy to put up with Phoenix's "Reindeer Games."

Sinatra has got to be the sweetest little colt I have ever met. He is so social and loves his humans and his best bud Phoenix. Those two will have to be weaned from each other! They are joined at the hip!!

Sinatra is actually starting to grow into himself and look like a horse. And he can move! When he gets going he is really quite fancy to watch. No action shots today but here are a couple enjoying his HUGE new pasture with Phoenix! LOOK at this! He has straightened out behind! Here he was before, for comparison:

Phoenix and Sinatra are getting their shots done next week and then they have a date to be gelded on July 14th. After they have recuperated from that they will be ready for adoption.

Sinatra was gelded today! All went well, although his recovery was a little wild. Then he was forced to stand and watch Phoenix have his brain surgery. We tried putting them in separate stalls, but they were having none of it so they are sharing one for now.

How is Sinatra doing with his healing? Any gorgeous action photos yet?

They are both doing well. Phoenix has a bit more swelling than Sinatra (he was a little more endowed as well) Exercise time is pretty entertaining. Everything they do is done in tandem, usually with Phoenix simultaneously biting on Sinatra's halter or neck. Every once in a while Sinatra has enough of him and stops suddenly so Phoenix has to let go, and then they settle right back to trotting side by side again. I'll try to get some video this week, its too funny not to video.

I am happy to hear they both are doing well. Are they still stalled or out in their pasture? How long do they have to be on stall rest?

They are back out on pasture. They only had to be stalled the first 24 hours after the surgery.

Photos from the gelding: Getting ready: Going down: Phoenix grazes calmly nearby, doesn't seem to care why Phoenix suddenly decided to take a nap: Waking up, Hannah smiles for the camera: Sinatra's recovery was a little wild, so Bonnie jumps in to help steady him: Bonnie and Sinatra: Even though he just had his manliness chopped off, Sinatra is still a flirt (note: he is winking at me): Saying hello to Benny:

He is so cute when he is doing his forced exercise! He just trots along, one ear/eye on the person with the lunge whip, swishing his little tail at Phoenix as if to say "just TROT, seriously; all we have to do is TROT" as Phoenix breaks into a canter to catch Sinatra's halter or bite his withers.
These boys are so funny together, almost cartoonish!!
