He's doing much better, thanks for you thoughts! Would like to see more poop, but since he's only getting tiny bits of food and a VERY soupy mash, I don't expect to see anything until tomorrow. (Tonight was the first time he had grass in 24 hrs.) But I'm hoping to see lots and lots of poo in the morning. But he happily ran around and showed off for the new horse we brought in tonight.

Hurray! His bloodwork came back really good! I was really worried about his liver, his lip was pretty yellow and he's such a laid back dude that I thought there may be something wrong. Sadly, liver and kidney issues are death sentences. I had white and blood cell counts run as well as kidney, liver, and electrolytes. All came back good! He's back to pooping, playing, and almost a normal diet although he will continue mashes for a while. I bought him some LMF digestion 911 today for good measure. Now I just need to keep him upright in his stall, and all will be well.

If you do purchase the anti-cast strips could you post photos of them? I am interested to see how they work or if horses just turn them into chew-toys. 2-3 feet up would make a very convenient scratching spot
