The Just Horsin Around 4H group is once again hosting a benefit gaming show where a portion of their proceeds will go to SAFE. The event will be held on March 27th at the BLT Arena in Granite Falls.
Last year we had a couple of volunteers who manned the SAFE booth for us and we are looking for the same this year. Post if you are interested in representing SAFE! We are looking for either two people for the entire day or 4 people in 1/2 days shifts.

Oh, I'm IN on this... I had a great time watching the 4H'ers do their gaming thing and would love to hang with some of you! Who wants to join in the fun???

Do we have any more info on time/place/etc???
I hadn't heard anything more but will send a PM to ladyhunter & eileen to double check... By my count we have 4 people who are able to do this. I have the Promo Kit so it probably makes sense for Lynn & I to do the earlier shift and bring the supplies and then leave them with someone who can either get them to Jaime or back to me.
If we need the tent, I think that's still at Jaime's

Alrighty....it looks like we have an event but only two of us who can work the booth...it would be great if we could find another person or two who can sit at the booth and take it down from 12-noon to close....3/4ish pm!?
Granite Falls is the locale. Lynn & I are coming up from Federal Way/Lakewood...and chance of anyone closer to Snohomish who could take down the booth and deliver it to SAFE?

LynnM & I went out to the BLT Arena in Granite Falls yesterday to host a table for SAFE at the Just Horsin' Around 4H show to benefit SAFE!  It was great to be remembered from last year and to meet some great new folks. We were welcomed with smiles and support from the moment we got there and were very impressed with the response. We were told that this was a record breaking show in terms of the number of participants. Among the many folks who came to see us, one gal shared her experience with an abuser in Monroe. As she shared the story I knew it sounded all too familiar and it turned out to be another Jean Elledge neglect situation...this one going back to the mid-1990's. We had great response to our before/after book and lots of oooohs & awwws over Sampson's baby picture which Lynn printed up and updated with a "before" of Delilah. The gaming was exciting to watch and there were participants in every age group... even parents...  ...and Grandparents, I suspect...  ..and as mentioned over on her birthday thread....we got to celebrate Lynn's birthday...  the angle of the shot was hard to get the whole message here but in glitter paint it said HAPPY

and in a photo I'm calling Save A Friend's Finger (S.A.F.F.), here's a happy "after" shot...in all the craziness last weekend we failed to take a "before" & I'm probably good with that!  and yes....I did have a PURPLE color option on the cast color!  |
