The owner has until the 9th to post bond(thousands per month) on the animals. There are more than just the horses. If she posts bond, they will be boarded until the criminal case is processed through the courts. This can take months.
If she does not post bond they will become the property of the county. If that happens we will do our best to place all of the animals into rescue.
No one from management on down in Animal Control likes animals to go to the auction yard for boarding or sale. Even livestock(goats, pigs, birds, sheep, cows) typically go to rescues.
However in the case of horses, the sad reality is there is a finite # of homes and spots in rescue. I saw on CL last night a young h/j mare under saddle, over fences that was being GIVEN away.
Sad state of reality.

The 15 days must not include weekends then? Because it will be 15 days tomorrow....
The lady who is fostering the mares now is going to work within her network of horse friends to try and find a place for the mares to go and she seemed hopeful that she could do that. We are not opposed to taking them in at a later date if we get some space freed up. I think between all of our efforts we can ensure that the horses don't end up at Enumclaw.

Do you have your arena back? I hope the lady is able to find homes for them, I know you girls would never let them go to the sale
