I noticed how small the last Ginger pic I sent was, so, ok, I admit I'm a very proud momma of Miss Ginger, so here is a pic that you can see.

And of course, the minute she see's the camera she poses, Rodeo 51 took this one a few weeks ago, the grass was still green instead of brown. I had the vet out to check on her last week, she was coughing, he gave her cough medicine, had a mild uri, she is ok to walk on flat ground for a few minutes only with a rider, so, every now and then will tack her up, she is so sweet and willing, but, she is now taking her alpha position very serious with Katey(cber horse). Boy, those back legs of hers can buck at poor Katey. She has become a spoiled momma, but, she deserves it.

Newest Ginger update: She is now officially a witch.....oops. Seriously, Ms Ginger has taken on the lead mare role at home with Katie and last week a friend asked if we could wean a foal at my home. Holy Smokes Ginger went crazy, in fact they all went crazy. Ginger's ears disappeared into her head and chased the foal knocking her to the ground, legs bucking 15 feet in the air. Katie was threatening both her owner and the foals owner. I yelled out to correct Ginger, she stopped and looked at me and calmed down. I swear she understands the english language. Ms Ginger has never been corrected she is normally the sweetest horse ever. So, with all that said, everyone is calmer, and Ginger now welcomes the foal into her stall. That adventure has cured me of ever wanting a foal..hehehe

Maybe she was worried you were going to lavish the baby with attention instead of her. If only we could be inside the horses heads and understand what they think! I'm glad to hear she is back to her sweet girl personality.

The foal is back and Ginger now loves her, she is the granny horse. The foal named Pepsi is staying with us thru the winter, her owner has no barn and I felt sorry for the little thing to just leave her outside to face the elements so her owner was happy to let her live with us and Ginger. Now for the earth shattering news to ms Ginger, I just adopted another horse from the feedlot, she's in QT for 3 months in eastern Washinton, Ginger is a drama queen mare but, I'm sure she'll be ok with a very slow introduction to Baby Ruth. First pic is Gingers reaction to my announcement of Baby Ruth, 2nd pic is Baby Ruth.

That little filly is Gingers saving grace since Tates death, after she tried to kill her early on, she now loves her and is teaching little Pepsi how to be a great little horse. Pepsi is not my horse but is staying with us for awhile. She is my first experience with a youngster, and thanks to Gingers loving kind attitude this little filly is as calm and sweet as can be. except when she see's her grain bucket...

I was just reading the story about Redmond and the feedlot, and thank God that SAFE found Hot Lips aka Ginger, I cannot even imagine such a sweet and loving mare going to slaughter, I thank God everyday for her.

That was her name at the feedlot (trust me, we didn't name them). There was a BJ, Honeycutt, Hawkeye, and Hot Lips.
