Eh, I don't even need to wait for a reply. I know this horse. I know the two girls. These are NOT all the horses, there's at least one missing. This mare was purchased off of CL no more than 3 yrs back and produced quite the stir here in our community. When we still had horse land here, the two girls were a regular sight here. We were relieved when they left.... If I am correct, and I'm willing to bet I am, these horses were not only neglected, but also abused. There's NO excuse for the owners.... there's been years and years of this crap; just like the Elledge case.

[/quote] Hey, I want to beat someone to this.... Horses will not survive off of hay string. Even if you place it in their feeder. But I really think the two girls that had these horses should try this diet....

Yeah, that "stall" was an accident waiting to happen. My heart breaks for the sweet, blind mare Meera that is still there...

OMG, these poor, poor horses. Out of the frying pan at Fran Farmer's into the fire. I remember that mess well. A couple of women ended up taking most of the horses and not allowing others who wanted to help to do so. I was afraid that they would end up back in hell as baby machines. The women who took about 50 horses from Fran Farmer's even had to beg on line for gas money to go get them but refused to let anyone else go to get any. A good online friend and rescuer wanted to take some in but was refused. She did manage to get a pregnant mare and her young stud colt. The colt has moonblindness which is apparently a genetic problem linked to white blankets without spots. Pam

Yes it went through the ABR forum. I have no idea if the threads are there or not. It was a real cluster****. Lildunhorse was the person who offered to help and was turned down. The horses were starving at Fran Farmer's. I think a number did actually die there. Now at least some of them are still starving and dying and breeding. Some rescue.

The two women who took the appies from Fran Farmer were Tricia Dennis and Brenda. I don't know Brenda's last name. Here's a link to a post that identifies them from a thread on ABR 18041.46
I read a few of the posts and the blind appy mare, Meera, even got a blanket donated to her. She was in foal when she was taken out of Fran Farmer's in November, 2007. I couldn't be Fran Farmer that abandoned them. These horses were rescued from her.

ETA: mare's name and date she was taken out of the Far Ranch

I spoke with the head of Snohomish County AC and she is stating that this is still an open investigation and no determinations have been made about the course of action. Anyone that has first hand information about these horses or these girls that had them should contact Officer Davis who is in charge of this case. PM me and I will send you his phone number as I don't want to post it publicly.

This is my post asking what was to happen with the horses as the whole thing seemed rather suspicious at the time. As you can see this was before I was banned from ABR for asking questions.
From: ptownevt 1/2/2008 2:57 pm To: ALL (91 of 96) 18041.91 in reply to 18041.90 Can Brenda and Tricia give some info on what they plan to do with the horses? I read in the thread that they are not rescues and that Brenda has bill(s) of sale to cover all the horses. Will they be put up for adoption? Rehabbed and sold? Where will all the horses be staying? That's a lot of horses. If someone wanted to adopt or purchase one of these horses how would they go about it? The response was that they just wanted to get the horses out, safe and rehabbed. Anyone who was interested in adopting was asked to email privately. As I recall nothing ever really came out as to where the horses went or what happened to them.

What I was told was that the horses were "rescued" from Fran by someone in Oregon, and that's where the horses came from (the girls were sticking to the story that only a few of these appies came from Fran, some did not). But the mare that died and the black filly did come from Fran directly, so there was some direct contact. It appears that Fran was a friend of theirs going back some time.

I'm sure that Cat will have a lot of information. I think she even did a column on Fran Farmer. I think the Oregon rescuers were probably Brenda and Tricia. They were from Salem, Oregon.

Not Brenda and Tricia. One girl worked for Fran the other is her friend. One got some horses from Fran when she as moving to Idaho. They've got Star off of CL when she was posted for free. (This is where CL "free" horses go. Nice, huh?) I can't tell you guys the names because I hope to God that Snohomish Co. will do something because this will happen again without action. I also believe that it's just as important that ALL of the horses get removed as it was with Elledge. The only thing that adds on is abuse. These girls physically abused their horses.

Pam I know about Fran but not about any accomplices. Be happy to post all about them if someone wants to send me the info, though! I'm not involved in a legal case with them. And yes, people DO need to see where free horses go WHEN YOU DON'T DO FOLLOW UP. I wish I had the BEFORE picture of how that horse was given away. Bet she did not look like that.

The blind mare, Meera, pictured on this thread was one of the horses the two from Salem, Oregon "rescued" from Fran. There are pictures of her on the thread I linked to on ABR. There has to be some connection between these girls and those two because Meera went from Fran to Brenda and Tricia. I'll bet the foundation mares and 2008 babies shown on their websites are the bred mares they got from Fran, financed in large part by ABR.
