Yay!!! I am so excited to see the video of him with the other youngsters, I bet it is quite the sight. What great news that he recovered, he certainly is a special guy

Sounds like Benny has a new lease on life. What ever happened to the video we were so anxiously waiting for?

Benny got his feet trimmed today and he was so incredibly good for the farrier! It was an amazing improvement over last time when he was very bad for the farrier and had to get some impromptu schooling on how to listen and stand still. I was expecting him to need a refresher course, but he stood completely still right from the beginning and was a perfectly behaved little boy the entire time.
This is one smart little pony.
I don't know if it's obvious from the pictures but Benny is a really handsome little horse. He has the nicest coat- a rich chocolate brown -- and always seems clean and fresh-smelling. He has huge brown eyes, long lashes, and a wide forehead with a big old star. I was watching him running in the pasture the other day and when he really gets moving, his tail goes straight up in the air like an Arab. So I'm beginning to wonder if maybe he's a Quarab? He's pretty small in stature, but is on the more stoutly built side. I think he would make a really cute hunter pony if the old injury doesn't preclude him from jumping. He certainly appears to be sound.

The old injury shouldn't preclude him from anything, per my understanding. It is not a weight-bearing tendon that he cut - it is the tendon used to bring his foot forward. Once it heals together and is able to serve that function again - which of course his has - he should remain completely sound and have no limitations on his future use.

what do you think about his daddy maybe being an arab?

I don't see it myself . Too me he looks just like Vivian, big butt and all. The tail thing isn't enough evidence, as I have seen plenty of non-arab breeds do that. I think he's pure QH, if I had to guess.

He's adorable. I'd call that a classic AQHA head, too - he's got the big cheekbones and the little foxy ears. If I had to guess, I'd say he looks like he's cutting bred - which would likely put him in the 14 hand or just barely 15 range. Some day you will have to introduce him to a cow and see what he thinks of it.

I rode a professional level, natural cutting horse once. She was the most responsive horse I have ever sat on. You had to be careful even adjusting your seat in the saddle because she was so in tune with every little twitch her rider made. She was an amazing horse.
