I just might be able to help out with frames. I just happen to manage a locally owned frame shop (museum quality framing in madison park) and help manage quite a few others in the Seattle and Tacoma area.
We might be able to donate some frames along with some gift certificates for the auction. How many frames are you generally in need of?
I'd also be willing to donate my time assembling the pieces if you'd like and don't mind if I take them to my shop to do it. If they're pieces in a variety of areas, they could probably just have them dropped off at any of our locations and they can be transferred to me directly. :-)
Feel free to message me or poke me when we meet. :-)

I need to announce that we've postponed the HeART of the Horse. At this point we're looking at Fall 2010 but will revisit the project again in April, after the first quarter, to readdress the goals and time perimeters involved with producing the quality event we have envisioned. Last year's success was due to an enormous amount of work done over a fairly short amount of time. As the April date came closer, we realized that we were not going to be able to meet our goals for this show without that same level of work. Maeve and I have both realized our limitations so because of personal & professional commitments we have decided to be sane about this and give ourselves a place to breathe and rethink some of this.
I believe that when we pick this up again, we'll be rejuvenated and better equipped to take this project on with full force.
We have several volunteers who have already put lots of time and energy into this project and have had their commitments to continue on with us when we revisit this. We hope that the rest of you will continue to gather information and offer support. The project is still "ON" and anything that comes up, contribution-wise or idea-wise is still encouraged and I'd be more than happy to discuss our plans with anyone who's interested.
...and Beta, THANK YOU so much for your offer...and we will certainly take you up when the time comes...

We are well underway in preparing for HeART of the Horse!! With just about 7 weeks to go we are in full swing needing to round up donated art and silent auction items. We have about 20 artists so far...need MANY MORE! Original pieces may be dropped off to any one of our show volunteers conveniently located throughout Western Washington or mailed to Maeve, our HeART Director! As I recall, pieces may also be dropped at Museum Quality Framing in Bellevue as well! We are requesting that wall art come framed for show, which can be basic framing but keep in mind you want to show off your piece to highlight it's beauty & attract bidders and awards! Museum Quality Framing is offering framing services to anyone needing to get a piece ready...and re-framing services, if desired, to folks who win pieces in the auction. Their work is (as the name suggests) quality and prices are reasonable! One other thing we need are sponsors for the Awards. Ideally we'd like the sponsor to contribute $50 to cover the cost of the ribbons & advertising/printing of the show brochure + a prize (aprox $50 value gift card, basket, etc...) for the winner. Our current Categories are: Photography Sculpture Watercolor Acrylic Mixed media Graphic Board of Director's Choice (SAFE featured piece of any medium) HeART Committee's Choice Museum Quality Framing Choice The 1st place winning entry in each category will be LIVE auctioned at the end of the show evening and the sponsor will be mentioned at that time as well. Ribbons, certificates and bragging rights will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each category Silent Auction items are also welcome. These can be non-equine items or quality equine items. We stayed away from tack related items last year but some unique apparel items might be good choices and I think that having fun things at some lower price points made it enjoyable for every budget. I'd like to keep things rolling along those lines. We already have some GORGEOUS necklaces that have been donated and we hope to have photos up soon. If you're on Facebook, you can help the cause by cross-promoting it on your page: www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/event.php?eid=117098915003071&ref=ts

This is starting to creep up and I have a pile of donation frames in my shop along with donation frames at other shops of ours. If somebody can let me know who's needing frames and an estimation of size, I can figure out what we have. If it's easier, I can compile a complete list. Museum Quality Framing (and Beard's in Lacey) will also extend an artist discount to those artists that want to frame their own pieces for the auction. If they go into any of the stores, they just have to let the person behind the counter know that Beth Amberg/Block okay'd an artist discount for this event. The piece absolutely has to be part of the benefit auction though, no personal projects. Please keep in mind that the usual turn around time for something custom can be up to two weeks.
